taeyang's rise vs crush's crush on you

both are great r&b albums  where 'rise' focuses on the pop side of r&b whereas 'crush on you' focuses on the more hip-hop side of r&b,for me it would be a tie since it's really hard to choose one

Personally I liked Crush's album waaaay more. It's more my style. I mean Rise was really good for the style it was and is about as good as Crush On You, but personal preference makes me choose Crush

Crush On You imo.

 

Rise is barely R&B tbh. It has a whole lot of acoustic, folk, dub balladry going on...the actual R&B on that mini is very low.

Crush On You is pretty much solid R&B...and the brotha knows how to use his voice meng! I like Rise (but mostly because I haven't been into Taeyang's music in a while so I was pleased with the fact that the songs on Rise sounded so coherent and even pretty...overall I still prefer Crush on You tho)

Also, Taeyang and Crush have similar voice types...yet y'all hear the way Crush uses his voice in these little ways to bring the songs to life? That's what I'd expect from Taeyang, especially for someone who's been in the music game so long..but he doesn't do that. Taeyang got the flava but his voice is...pretty basic. Crush's singing is basically what Taeyang could have been, should he have played around with more techniques in his singing - maintaining solid head voice notes, adding li'l runs, playing with phrasing stuff like that.
