Yes and no. I'm doing a double degree in International Studies and Journalism. I like my International studies one, however I've been slightly struggling with my Japanese minor, but so far my journalism one has been pretty lackluster, they require us to do a lot of photography and video/audio production which I don't really enjoy and it's not the type of field I'm looking on going into - I'm looking to do print journalism, not audio/broadcast journalism

I did but never fell in love with it like I was told I should. To me it was like having a toxic relationship

People have been telling me to love medicine since I was young because of the money. I have given up on it now but back then I was continuosly forcing myself to love it so I kind of understand how that feels :/

Yeah, it’s okay. I’m currently studying Latin and Ancient Greek, and although it’s extremely difficult (especially the Greek), I feel quite happy about it. It’s also really cool to go around and tell people “you know, I actually took classical languagesâ€, as well as knowing how a lot of different languages work. Many European languages have words that can be traced back to these languages, and it’s really cool to be able to draw connections from Greek or Latin, to for example English, German or French.

I’ll graduate in half a year, so I will be really proud of having fought my way through 3 years of this.

Idk why people does that, forcing a major on someone, you might have great potential on other stuff that might make you happier and it's being wasted souleyesplz.png

I'm doing a double degree in English language & literature and Communication sciences, I really enjoy it (even though it's sooo much to read). Before, I studied Business Administration (didn't finish) and I absolutely hated it.

I'm currently studing to get into economic informatics so I'm sure my degree might have sth to do with business so can u please tell why and what u hated about it ?

Yes and no. I have a double major in chemistry and biology. I love my chemistry major, I just tolerate my biology major. I'm doing it to go into biomedicine/biochemistry for my masters. I want to develop new pharmaceuticals.

I don't know what that is but it seems freaking cool lol

Haha which part? Biomedicine is essentially medicine but not studying to actually be a doctor or nurse or anyone that does the treating. A lot of the time people with biomedicine majors work on studying disease or body functions. Biochemistry is essentially a zoom-in on the parts of chemistry and biology that overlap. Like, essentially it's mostly on a molecular or nano scale. Protein function, cell function, hormone pathways, genetics, stuff like that.

Technically my masters is actually going to be in biomedical surface science, which includes a bit of nanochemistry, biology, chemistry, biochem and immunology. It's a bit of everything. Surface science itself is the study of the interactions between different substances in different phases (like liquid, solid, gas).

I have to do my Ph.D afterwards most likely, but when I'm done I want to work on developing new medicines, cures, treatments and therapies, or simply put I want to work in pharmaceuticals :D

No lol I'm only 16.

People have been telling me to choose med as my major but I don't really enjoy it that's why I started focusing on what I'm interested in which is economic informatics.

oh cool, I always wanted to do med growing up, but once I heard about the entrance exam, I gave up on that wish (we have high school examinations here, as well as an extra exam on top of that if you want to study in nursing, medicine, or science), though I probably wouldn't tell anyone to go into med the hours are harsh, and then there's widespread workplace bullying... I've heard of cases here where if you report harassment to HR your superiors could blacklist you from ever working in another public hospital again. Economic Informatics though... wow, that sounds really interesting.

First of all, please remember that we are all different - something that doesn't work for me might still work for you!

But Business Administration was way too analytical and trivial for me! I didn't study it because I was interested in the subject(s), but because I didn't know what to do with my life. The most naive approach ever! I'm sure that you can make it if you are interested in/like your subject. In my case, everything I did at that time seemed so pointless. And because my degree didn't make any sense to me, I did very badly. Thankfully, I got accepted to my double degree which isn't pointless at all imo.

I hope this answer can help you. ilikeitplz.png
