Especially if they seem to be targeting a specific member.

Someone on my tl was bragging about blocking fansites who were partaking in this yesterday.

I myself don't really like it but agree with it if the person being blurred out in the photo is making a weird face, e.g. they blinked or had a mouth full of water when the photo was taken (see examples in spoiler). Though I respect the FS that doesn't blur/whitewash their photos to a greater degree than the ones who blur them out tbh.

Fansites are usually hardcore fans of a particular member, often ind. fans or even borderline akgae-ish, so why would you expect them to include other members in their photos? Personally I don’t have a problem with it if the blurred members are just standing somewhere close or are a part of the background but I dislike it when they do it to photos of idols interacting with each other or when they do to it only to particular members

They blur bcs idol is not looking good at that moment, you know that right? It is not an ill intention.

Sometimes, yes and that's understandable although there are some shipping fs that also do this (they're fine to do it - it's their photos)

the pic with Jungwoo in the op has 2 other members beside him and they don't exactly look weird though...

and this Jikook pic where Joon is looking fine af (publish the unblurred photo damn it, it's so pretty) lovestruck.png

i find it distracting tbh especially when the blur is really obvious and takes the attention away from the pic's subject which was supposed to be the unblurred idol, ironically

but if the blur is only minor and mostly in the background then it shouldn't be too much of a problem for me

1. Their photo

2. Essential as that member may take away the attention of their bias.

Saw a photo where my bias gets blurred but he look really good in it. If the fansite did not blur my bias, my fandom maybe quoting/retweeting that tweet more than the fandom of fansite bias.

There are just times pics at that point meeds too much editing and they are lazy, but more often than not, there is no ill intent in blurring

It seems like most of them don't have ill intentions when doing this. It's either a particular member looking unflattering or they just want to highlight their favourite member in group shots. I don'y see a big problem here. And after all, it's their pictures

You can tell in some of the pictures, like the Lovelyz and Loona one, that the idol looks fine. It might not be ill intention but it has nothing to do with hiding another member's embarrassing moment.
