One thing I can never understand for console gaming...

I haven't used console since Nintendo 64 and normally played games on

PC. But recently I decided to play the new Spiderman game which

was PS4 exclusive. So I bought the recently. My friend told me

if I was to play games online I had to pay a monthly subscription fee

of $10 per month to do so.

I was mind blown. I don't understand either why people pay for the Internet

and then pay for multiplayer access. You could play online against

other people on Steam for free.

Someone please enlighten me.

I never bought any of those services, I dread online-play lol.

and Nintendo recently turned to paid online play on some titles, too, but I think it's still relatively cheap (20 a year per account) and you get NES titles with it too and more NES titles added monthly, that in itself makes it worth it

I think some plans have perks, like free games for older titles

i don’t even game online but we invest in ps plus just for the benefits

so many games i have gotten for free that i always wanted to play like bloodborne, cod, friday the 13th and more

im super casual so pc gaming is pointless for me i just wanna chill with the homies and have a good time which is why switch was an even better investment but ps4 is cool

Let's not forget for PC we have DLC's and Season Pass.

AND you can run your game on PC at a HIGHER performance too.

That's why we're called PC masterrace, my friend. We don't go for BS like that unless we're the delulu kind of our people and play EA games and COD fanboys who re-buy the same game year after year.

haha I agree. It just sucks that so many games are on console only while us PCers are left with barely anything. I want to play Red Dead Redemption but PC version will have to wait like a year later.

Yeah, that's a slight slap to the face. But I'm reminded of how much better PC gaming is, everytime I remember my friend installing mods for Fallout4. He had to literally reinstall every single mod everytime he wanted to add a new one on his XBOX and nvr found a fix for it.

I laughed in his face with my 50 (and growing) mods for my F4 on PC. He's never been the same since.

Ill never understand why people would pay for such an obvious scam. Sure they might give you some "free" older games but on PC we get emulators which basically gives us all older games for free with no charges at all.

The bigger plus side to PC gaming is that every single game runs 10x smoother on PC with higher graphics and our market for games is vastly larger aswel, just look at steam how many games you could buy.

I don't like the subscription services to play online. I remember when that wasn't the case, but the companies want to make money.

Though I don't understand why you think you're gaming for free on PC. Someone has to pay for the internet don't they?

As someone who plays on PC and consoles there's no doubt that PC has better graphics and processing power, but they're way more expensive. A truly good gaming PC can cost you nearly $2,000 while the Xbox One X's and PS4 Pros are around $450. Plus you have to make sure the games you buy are compatible with the specs you have otherwise you're out of luck. You don't have to think about that on consoles. The game will run if it's made for the system. Never mind having to go through the trouble of buying new parts to keep up with the latest games. Yes I know you can do some upgrades on consoles, but you technically don't need to beyond a new hard drive for space.

Point is both have their advantages and drawbacks. Gaming isn't a cheap hobby in general, and PC is far from free.

I like how that's the only thing you took from my post. You are, but you don't have to. Like I said, both have their advantages and disadvantages, but PC is definitely far more expensive, even when you factor in the cost of the online subscription service. The maintenance and general cost of good hardware is far more than any console. I have both, so I'm really playing devil's advocate here, but I don't think you should use price to get a leg up on console players, cause you really can't.

lol it's not the only thing I took from your post cos i don't hold a lotnl knowledge regarding hardware maintenance etc. My friend built my computer for an odd 1.3k aud 5 years ago and I'm able to play most games on highest performance. And it hasn't had any issues since. :/

Cost, ease, and knowledge.

Consoles cost less.

Consoles are easier to handle, put in the game and play. Sometimes PC gaming requires work before you start playing and during your play. Many also prefer solo play.

Many console players don't know that PC gaming is like console gaming on crack.

As someone who has always played both, I didn't even realize all of the advantages of PC gaming until I started modding Skyrim.

Aaaaand sometimes, gamers just take too much crap and call it dessert *cough* LOOT BOXES *dies coughing*
