Do you think targeting China has made Kpop better or worse?

I didn't realize I was in such a bubble... I thought BTS were really big in China. It's what I think is typical Chinese music style.

They have a consequent fandom there without targeting the chinese market

Well it seems to have worked well for SM, but granted SM is probably the only agency who has invested the most for the Chinese market.

Isn't BTS trying to get China?

Not really. I mean they've promoted / appeared (performed) on some shows previously but that was a few years ago and I don't think they ever got that much traction. They have a dedicated modest fanbase there, but it pales compared to EXO / SJ fans. BTS (BigHit) are more focused on Korea and the western markets these day anyway.

How so?

BTS is bringing in a touring attendance of 1 million for their current tour (without China).

China, with their ban on kpop, is more beneficial to those/idols who are actually Chinese.
