You do not act Black

You can act Ghetto or You can Act Hood but you cannot act Black.

Same With Acting white

You can act Suburban or like Your from the Valley

But you cannot act White

Let's stop acting like we are woke saying they appropriating  Black culture  when in fact they are Appropriating hip hop culture

Unless They are saying power to the People and Dressing In Dashakis or The Black Panther Party They are Fine.

Edit: Before I said Culture Appropriation in the title which was incorrect wording in which I do apologize for.

WAKANDA XD

No XD they can come to Wakanda they can't live in Wakanda but they can visit

I agree with you

People talk about appropriation as if they care but in reality they don't

Exactly they just wanna cry about being oppressed and something like that it's crazy

Lmao this is so inaccurate buuuut I already learned not to argue about racial relations with OH'ers.

BUT, if you mean white people trying to speak for every race and somtimes attacking for the wrong reason?

Yeah, that does happen sometimes. Some people are overzealous.

Yes I do speak Ebonics/AAVE.

As a black man thats how people of my culture speak and that type of communication was passed down to me

And I in turn do speak like that. It's also why I was taught to force my self to speak "Proper," or what most people tell me "Non-Black" when at Job interviews, Professional work setting, or communicating with authorities.

You can see examples of Ebonics via OH and Stan Twitter. As the whole language is a copy of how Black Men,Female Black Women or Gay Black Men talk. The whole "Sis," or "Should've sat and ate your food," or "I said what I said," or more are examples of that.

The fact that they assume aave is ‘hood’ or ‘ghetto’ instead of being a part of rich and valued black culture regardless of whether they live in poverty striken neighborhood but who’s gonna tell OP that :derp:

But you realize not every Black person speaks in Ebonics....... Granted yes most of us do but like I'm saying a Race shouldn't come to mind when I'm talking. because basically at least from what I read you just said Non Black people are the only ones who speak proper English And sound lile they have sense while black people sound like they have a 7th Grade education. You understand what I'm saying

For me personally cultural appropriation issues never make the forefront of things I care about, there are worse things happening but OP the wording of your post is insensitive and racist whether you realize it or not. In fact you just blatantly just equated ghetto to what ppl mean by black ppl slang and suburban with white ppl slang, if you don’t meant to be racist delete the thread ASAP.

Right . I was screeching.

And not to mention

"ITS NOT HOOD OR GHETTO"

Then why the fuck does almost every race even worldwide see us as Hood or Ghetto? You think that those two words just happened to spill out on the dictionary and weren't applied to a specific race? I-

"Its Hip Hop culture"

Sis...where do people think Hip Hop came from?

Us. Do you think we pulled the genre out of our assholes?

That all people who started Hip Hop and made it popular was black.

How many of their bars were bout being black and their culture?

That it was some type of coincidence?

I swear sometimes OH really be playing dumb on purpose lmao.

The fashion, the rapping, the attitude, everything about Hip Hop stemmed from their personal experiences as a Black Man/Woman.

And that last statment cancelled you. This is the last time I will reply to you.

1.) Just because every Mexican doesn't speak Spanish doesn't men that suddenly the language didn't originate from their people or the culture surrounding that language didn't originate from their people.

2.) Race does come into mind when people talk. Thats a simple fact. Whatever fantasy land you inhabit where you think thats not the case then go ahead and live it

3.) Most Black people live in poor neighborhoods with low education so many of them are academically fucked anyways so you aren't doing yourself any favors.

4.)You can and this chick can keep it.

I'm done with this discussion. Whew

Did I not just say "Yes I do speak Ebonics/AAV" don't quote me again if you're going to pretend not to be able to read. You can quote me again on some cute shit I will just ignore it. I am done with this thread anyways.

I understood everything you said but apparently my comment flew over your head. You can't speak black because AAV is not how every black person speaks, only African Americans, which is just a fraction of black people. The same way OP said you can't speak like a valley girl and claim you're speaking white because not every white person talks like that. But it just looks like you wanna get angry at someone so go off.

I think you didn’t get what OP said they want to remove race from slang. They were not arguing about the semantics of black vs African american. That’s for another time. You didnt have to insert it into a conversation which was addressing something else. It’s a dick move.
