Do you think Idol life is boring?

I have been following kpop for more than 8 years and I used to think kpop as somewhat sparkling and fun. but as I grown up I was exposed to numerous news about depression and restrictions that some idols have to go through and come to realization that they’re jobs deal with constant stress and so many stereotypes that they have to fulfill. And their job is somewhat repetitive (practice, recording, perform, repeat) so it’s not really challenging.

And to add things up, their salary isn’t really much based on the amount of work they’ve been through. I mean if we relate to schooling, 7-10 years of schooling if you do it right, you can earn phd or master degree, and in some respective field (what I know is finance and data analyst) you can achieve high amount salary, especially if you are experienced.

But its not the case with idols, some idols can train until 7-9 years and still have high probability of failing although he/she has given their entire youth for the industry.

And what I really emphasize is the routine of idols. I mean, if you do it for years (pratice, recording, performing) it’s not really challenging and you don’t really learn something new. So, in this case, it can be a bit boring. So, what do you guys think?

They have to spend 10+ hours a day practicing even after they debut. The only real excitement comes when they're promoting, and even then they're surrounded by fans constantly which would be suffocating. They get barely any free time outside of the watchful eyes of the public and their management, and only get an hour or two of sleep each night. I think they're probably too busy and stressed out to be bored, but it's far from a glitzy and glamorous lifestyle.

It’s probably anything but boring, I can I imagine  all the tea that gets around from company to company plus all the jobs you will taking. I’d see it more as tiring, like an actual job but now you have the whole world watching

Oh yes we can think that way. But I also think of the way idols have fun, it’s very difficult to date openly and even when they are travelling some fans will surrounded them and disturb their peace. I also remember from some rookies interview, they are not allowed to hold their phones and go out alone even it is just minimarket, it’s suffocating in my opinion.

This is probably just me going off topic - if that's the case, I'm sorry!!

One thing that I find it really weird is when idols call their schedule activites 'work'... which shouldn't be weird at all since it technically is work for them... but what I associate with 'work' is your typical office job.  For instance, I've watched Rosé's livestreams and whenever she goes on business trips to Japan or New York she always says 'Hey guys, so I just came back from work' and I find it so funny. For us fans, we see it as a life of luxury but for idols/celebrities it's like any other job in which they have to overcome challenges and constant stress. So in a way, I guess they would find it boring?
