On the 19th of November (KST), SKT T1 Faker will make an appearance on national television in the talk show called "Annyeonghaseyo".

In South Korea, it is not uncommon to see celebrities of all kinds, may it be singers or athletes, to appear on national television. Talk shows such as "Annyeonghaseyo" bring famous guests on the show to listen and answer the nation's questions/complaints. However, it is almost unheard of for a professional gamer to make their way onto a talk show.

While there were past appearances of professional gamers in the past, the level of occurrence was close to none. Of course, when we think of a professional gamer who could achieve this feat, Faker and only Faker comes into mind. He has done just this.

The episode in which Faker has appeared in has already been filmed and is due to air on the 19th of November (KST) on KBS2. Twitter has exploded with people's reactions to Faker seen on national television and on an incredible famous show at that. A fan tweeted "Faker will appear on 'Annyeonghaseyo' on the 19th LOL. He is going to be on the show with Red Velvet. What is Faker's popularity."

A video clip of Red Velvet introducing Faker to the show has also made its way onto social media with 397 retweets and 273 likes.

Faker is THE professional Gamer.

He's unquestionably the most famous gamer in korea and arguably the most famous gamer on the planet.

Totally, his fame really goes way beyond Korea. I can speak for myself and many of my fellow gamers when I say that he's been our inspiration for a long time, and even the sole reason I even paid attention to Twitch and the WC lol

i hope the concerns are somehow relatable for him so that he can help with stuff

i've been watching this program for a while and i've noticed that they don't really care about kids with a passion for something but are hindered by their parents

hopefully a story like that shows up so that he can talk about his own experience being successful at something that is often frowned upon by adults

Can anyone explain why he blew up and became extremely popular now?

He has always been popular, especially among people who play video games. Basically the face of the game even when his team didn't do well this year because he already won 3 Worlds + squeaky clean image.

My speculation is that with E=sports being a demonstration sports in Asian Games this year, he's probably pushed on TV more to promote e-Sports as a serious event in the next coming years..
