U-Kiss & After School

They both missed the boat, for separate reasons. Let's take a look at the differences between the two.

In the case of After School, I think Pledis made a huge series of mistakes in terms of marketing. They started out with a "Korean Pussycat Dolls" concept, which surely wasn't the issue because Korea has no issue with sexy concepts. The issue started when they began adding members for no true purpose, only to shove them behind the ever-dominating Kahi. They added new members to the group, shoved them into Orange Caramel, and then instead of keeping that sugar sweet image separate from After School as a whole, they reunited Orange Caramel with After School and tried to combine the images with "Shampoo". Then, they created After School Red and Blue, which is a concept that they should have been doing anyway with Orange Caramel and AS as a whole. To make matters worse...they are still adding more members. It feels like career began being made up on the spot later on and there was no clear direction for them to go, and it didn't help that Kahi dominated nearly every aspect of the group so the rest of them had no identity without her/because of her.

In the case of U-Kiss, I think their issue is simply that Korea is very unforgiving and they missed their window of opportunity. They lagged behind in nearly every aspect in their early days and by that time the public had already made up their mind about them which is a true shame because they began getting quite good around "Mworago". Luckily they've stabilized and are respectable in their own right but they'll never be a top group, which honestly I feel they're probably fine with considering how close they were to failing. At least they can flaunt how much they've improved because their songs and choreography have been consistently great for a long time now.

You see I agree with you.. I like both groups but adding new members never worked in for their favor.. like the first time is fine (Raina Nana, AJ, Hoon..) but theyre still trying to add new members.. for what? dont get me wrong i'm very interested in E Young and the new guy Jun he seems very talented.. but WHY! debut them in a new group! and let the others move on on their own! stop trying to fit them in a mold they clearly arnt made to fit in..

After School's underratedness is because of Pledis's crap management. Member changes are for the better imo (it gave the group Raina, Nana, Uee, etc.)

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so but I really hope we start getting more quality additions soon (no offense to Kaeun and Eyoung) because the popular girls are leaving soon.
