The West should know that it was originally founded in Japan for religious purposes and Japan should be aware of the similarities of the Manji to the Swastika and the negativity behind that. As long as everyone knows exactly what the difference is since they're not the same, the direction and tilt of the two symbols I think it would be fine. That's why Korea and other countries that are under their occupation don't take their "apologies" seriously.
