They haven't begun promoting in Japan yet, so these are good numbers. This is the second highest korean girl group after Twice on oricon, right?

How do albums sales popularity work in Japan?

Once they start promos in Japan I'm sure they'll sell more.

This is what I kept trying to tell people.

Some were expecting 50,000 ~ 100,000 which simply isn't realistic.

Japan fans will wait and rather buy the Japanese release rather than the Korean one.

BUT these numbers are great for first week. These numbers are similar first week numbers for TWICE.

Now we gotta see if the longevity pulls through.

So far this is a good sign though.
Shows that they have a bigger fandom in Japan than any other girl group besides TWICE right now.

For anyone wondering here is the max Oricon numbers per group for Korean albums (GG)

1. TWICE - 94,000 (100+ Weeks)

2. IZ*ONE - 12,000 (1 Week)

3. Red Velvet - 12,000 (52 Weeks)

4. Blackpink - 10,000 (15+ Weeks)

Yep, only Twice sells more for Korean releases in Japan than this, and Im not even talking just first week sales, with 12k COLOR*IZ has already sold more than the total sales of any other Korean release from a gg on Oricon other than Twice albums this year
