I read the phrase in two parts like "they've been eliminated "from contention" // because they served in the police force," which obviously raises many questions lmao. All I can find is that he wasn't chosen. Afaik, Dongwoon apparently couldn't proceed with the exam. Nevertheless, I was just clarifying the title bc it was confusing. They're both grown and healthy, why even try There are valid reasons not to want to be in the military even if you're physically fit. One of them is being anti-militaristic. In France when conscription was still a thing you could call yourself a conscientious objector. It meant you could replace your military service with civil service - but it was double length (2 years instead of 1 year). South Korea doesn't have this (only very recently the subject has been brought up and discussed) so the best you can do is apply for conscripted police.
