They applied for police service like TOP but were rejected so now they’ll probably serve in active duty

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, thanks. I read the phrase in two parts like "they've been eliminated "from contention" // because they served in the police force," which obviously raises many questions lmao.

I always find it interesting how some ifans treat this topicimstupid.png ...like how does this effect your personal life?

Why does it matter what some Koreans men choose to do? So what if some of them don't want to do active duty..

Huh? According to the article, Gikwang's name wasn't chosen in the final draw today.

Technically even if someone wasn't part of the final draw they can still take another test but that depends on the individual as long as they do it 3 months before the actual enlistment

because he decided to back out did you even read the tweets following that tweet

I'm gonna need you to link that tweet for me bc I can't find one that said that he backed out. All I can find is that he wasn't chosen. Afaik, Dongwoon apparently couldn't proceed with the exam.

Nevertheless, I was just clarifying the title bc it was confusing.

Always judging those who try to avoid full duty... They're both grown and healthy, why even try

There are valid reasons not to want to be in the military even if you're physically fit. One of them is being anti-militaristic.

In France when conscription was still a thing you could call yourself a conscientious objector. It meant you could replace your military service with civil service - but it was double length (2 years instead of 1 year). South Korea doesn't have this (only very recently the subject has been brought up and discussed) so the best you can do is apply for conscripted police. Not because you're lazy, but because you don't want to end up having to fight in a war.
