Why do you like the other one more than the other etc? The thought went through my mind the other day since I only stan Korean boy groups - I'm indifferent towards One Direction, or I don't care for them. Btw I've kinda liked One Direction since X Factor UK, I really enjoyed their stages! Miekos 24,408 Posted June 1, 2014 Share Posted June 1, 2014 I actually never liked boybands before I started listening to Kpop (2 years ago), I really disliked them (I listened a lot to Japanese rock bands), I don't really like One Direction, their songs aren't bad, they just don't attract me. And I probably won't listen to boybands anymore when I stop listening to Kpop. The thing that I like the most about Korean boybands is that it is singing, dancing and rap and it's just a bit different than Western boybands? I pretty much agree on everything you said I loved Japanese rock bands before K-pop (One Ok rock, Spyair, Uverworld etc), and still do. I don't know how people can like groups/solo acts whose music sounds the same. It's like hearing the same song on repeat. Out of their singles, only two sound different, so bad. But I choose Western boy bands because they sing about cool stuff sometimes. Very few Korean boy bands sing about anything other than girls and love. Also, I'm not into all the 'airs' and fake personalities that Korean boy-bands create, so I guess I like authentic shit so I stick to more truthful Western bands.
