The plot is better, the acting is miles better, the characters are better written and Ambrose is 10x the gay legend Kevin will ever be. 25%Cotton 7,133 Posted October 30, 2018 Share Posted October 30, 2018 the plot is good, the performances are good from most characters (sabrina herself is off-and-on), camp but also creepy (and also hilarious). pacing is a bit ffed though, her mortal friends are boring AF, and there's an episode around the middle that is extremely dull and ultimately a waste of time... but overall had a lot of fun watching the season. god ms. wardwell is absolutely to die for, the aunts nearly flawless (only problem is zelda is pretty much no help to anyone 99% of the time while hilda is always right, which throws their balance off), and supporting characters prudence and ambrose are fantastic as well. to me it feels like what AHS:Coven wishes it could have been but failed to be. still a lot of room for improvement though. Like someone else said zelda might as well not be a main character they give nothing to her character other than being maybe the stupid aunt who helps sometimes. I wish salem talked, i would have lived for a dark salem. her friends make me cringe. very preachy with no subtlety (even if i agree with the overall message, it's not interestingly done). they only start to get interesting when they get tied into the magic plots, but it would have been much more organic (and engaging) if they simply got exposed to magic unwittingly through Sabrina's half-baked antics (like in Buffy). It's obvious that CAOS is miles better than Riverdale (even though I still enjoy Riverdale for the mess it is). I like how Rosalind is connected to magic hopefully they do more with it next season, but yea I don't get Susie's connection it's unnecessary and felt forced.
