Never buy their merchandise except candy bong. Would suggest onces to buy more albums to support them. The more they sell, the more records they could achieve. Merchandise sold out also won't help them in any achievement.

Well, the members of the group receive a larger share of the merchandise sales compared to album sales. So, it does help their financial situation.

A financial analysis I recently read said that JYPE makes 130% profit margins on Twice merch. This shit is making real bank. We get a new photobook or monograph or something once a month at the least, its nuts. Im sure that if there wasn't so much merch the album sales would be even higher, since everyone has finite disposable income and it becomes a choice over what you desire to buy unless you collect literally everything. Me personally I dont buy any of the albums, just the standalone photobooks, since that is what im interested in. I consider the monographs superior to the album books. But if they didn't have so many of these photobooks coming out then Id probably be just buying the albums.

As a photobook lover, Twice really feeds the hell out of us. Snsd has 4 books, 3 large ones and a smaller one, T-ARA has two large ones, a medium and smaller one. Other groups have less, one or none, but they are releasing with higher frequency now than 2nd gen, especially concert dvd + book packages.

Btw To once from jihyo2 and new twicezine are already out for pre order. I really wanna see a twicetv spain, france or italy so we can get another 300 page book out of it like with Swiss.

The merch has higher profit margins than the albums because the people buying them are even more hardcore fans than the album buyers so they can make them a bit more expensive due to that. That means the girls make more money that way. Merch has 130% profit margins. No way albums do.

Twice has nothing left to prove, when they're already dominating physical sales it isn't an issue anymore beyond fandom circlejerk purposes. Do you really think the girls care about all these achievements beyond some extent? When nayeon and momo were doing a vlive in japan when the chat told them they got another triple crown on inkigayo, they weren't even aware of it, thought it was only their 2nd win, and really didnt seem to be too enthusiastic about it, especially Nayeon. At this point its about money in the bank account, so saying don't buy merch is pretty silly, because that is what will actually support them more rather than achievements. I guarantee that fans care way more about having a list of 50 achievements to spam on forum posts than the girls do.

Merchandise sold helps the company have more disposable income for further expansion, makes the company more inclined to allocate a larger budget to future twice comebacks and extravagant concerts and other stuff ( like how the Halloween fanmeet had fireworks), will help raise company profits and in turn market cap (so fans can circlejerk about "say thanks twice" about articles discussing how well JYPE is doing) and again most importantly when the girls' idol careers are over they can be rich and own properties, invest in shit and life happy lifestyles. All of that more important than first week hanteo or gaon numbers or how many allkills they had or music show wins etc etc

Danggg..the amount of merchandises here. Jype be making banks lol

I would say both merch and albums are impt in their own ways. One gives $$ directly to their pockets while the other allows them to command higher CF fee and have more impact with non-fans.
