Official Figure Skating Thread

"Orser said" means it came from directly from Orsers mouth. Not an agency or the media. And that was his experience with ATS and the ceo at the time. They are not much different now then they were then.

its not an insult if its fact. You are clueless when it comes to figure skating.

A party in a discussion saying something does not make it fact.

'its' should be 'it's'.

It should also be capitalized. Just pointing that out as you were just making a comment about my English skills. My English skills are admittedly not great, but I am glad I could help you out with yours a little :)

At least I can read it fluently unlike yourself as your previous posts have shown.

Which is detrimental if you want a conversation.

You talk about reading skills, while you stated as facts things that haven't been proven multiple times. That's why I take your comment with a pinch of salt. You might also want to avoid making spelling mistakes when you insult someone else's language skills.

I totally agree that Mariah shouldn't be bullied and that things should be investigated first. In addition to that, I don't think Eunsoo should be bullied or called names either for the same reason. Let the bullying claims be investigated first or let Eunsoo speak up. Ideally, Eunsoo would have made a statement by now, saying they aren't true or a misunderstanding. This, if it was the agency stirring up trouble, as you said. It hasn't happened yet, but maybe after the gala is done or they are back home.

Anyway, there is not much further point in this. Nathan won the World Championships in a thrilling skate. Congratulations to him on defending his title.

Yuzuru needs to retire! I'm so glad that Nathan finally asserted his dominance over him.

What do you mean by finally? Nathan has won Gold over Yuzuru before, why are you acting as if him placing gold over Yuzuru is new? And why should Yuzuru retire? Figure skating isn't just about who can jump the most quads, artistry is also a big factor and that's where Yuzuru excels at compared to Nathan (I've seen some people on r/figureskating say they find his programs boring because it's all just jumps). Had Yuzuru hadn't flubbed up on his 4S in the SP he could have beaten Nathan in the SP and then win the FS.

imstupid.png I'm sorry, is Nathan a two-time Olympic gold medalist?

Is Nathan also always injured?

He's never done it at this level before. I've always thought Yuzuru was highly overrated, verging on Patrick Chan levels. Now the scene is moving away from him, just like it did from Patrick.

Yuzuru just won silver at the World Championships, which is amazing after all he accomplished.

I'm looking forward to seeing him next season. No need to retire of course after such a great result.

Or perhaps he'll be at WTT. I wonder who will be going there. Would be nice if Elizaveta got an invitation.

Oh please, Eunsoo is not only 16. She is an elite athlete competing at the highest level, not a baby. If she can't even communicate with her coach or her parents can't talk to her coach then she clearly doesn't belong there. Her coach, Raf, has always been known to be a 'no bullshit' person. He is not a new coach who has never coached athletes. He isn't afraid to call out his athletes or their families for their behavior as everyone saw with Nathan at the Olympics. Bullying and reckless behavior aren't tolerated with him or his rink. "People get bullied without others noticing all the time" These are elite athletes being watched by coaches, trainers, and other skaters, it is highly unlikely MB would have been able to get away with it with everyone watching. Especially when Raf is there watching.

And you clearly don't understand what an official practice skate is. It's the only chance skaters have to skate to their music on competition ice. Whoever's music is playing has the right of way and takes all the ice for the program. Any other skaters on the ice are supposed to get out of the way and keep an eye out to not cause an accident, that's not Mariahs responsibility when her music is on and she's skating. The fact here is Eunsoo wasn't careful enough. She was by the boards but she still wasn't out of MB's way nor was she even looking behind her to check if MB was coming her way.

Clearly as shown by the video she didn't notice when she scraped Eunsoo. Shes not supposed to be coddling other skaters if they get in the way. This isn't some random competition, this is World Championships. And this is their careers not some hobby. Just because its a "practice"doesn't make it any less important. There is no time to waste and if MB stopped she would lose major practice time she wouldn't get back. She has only one chance to run her music and that it.

And as ATS has shown, they are willing to exaggerate something to get media coverage. Claiming MB "stabbed and kicked" their athlete; making it seem as if MB took off her boot, hit EL and ran away, when it was a scrape caused by a movement that was always in MB's program. I wouldn't be surprised if they are willing to lie and say EL was bullied too. The completely unprofessional and lack of awareness (or maybe they were aware) of what their little story would do has caused psycho knetz and yuna bots to harass MB on social media, telling her and her family to kill themselves, all while EL is a precious innocent angel who needs to be protected. Get real. ATS is run by Kim Yuna's mother, the same person who caused rifts between Yuna and Orser during and after her career with him. She doesnt have a problem dragging someones name through the mud to look innocent.

Literally no statements have been made directly by EL. It's all coming from her agency. You might think they are helping her but the figure skating community is small and no one is going to forget what her agency tried to pull on MB when the ISU found nothing.

If it was not MB but some Russian athlete, I'm SURE you would call it bullying.

Decent human being would just apologised when they hit someone by accident and there wouldn't be any fuss.

Maybe it's bullying, maybe it's awful attitude towards others, I don't know. But don't make EL be the bad girl here.

Last I checked MB isn't training with a russian athlete.

Try again sweety. That agency is EL and this is her problem.

edit: Nor does nationality even matter as I didn't even care about Mariah Bell until people on the internet started pretending to understand figure skating practice

Eteri is seriously one vile woman. Her recent Instagram post is using her mother’s death to shade Zhenya, saying how a student she gave 200% to left her. She wrote about how difficult it was and then slipped in a dig at the "sudden departure of one of her students" and how much it hurt her.

This woman really wants to see Zhenya fail. I’m just going to continue rooting for Zhenya and I hope Zagitova ends up leaving her too because she’s also getting burnt out.

Lol, even Raf admits that Nathan's program is all "set ups, jumps. repeats" but sure, "Nathan asserts dominance over Yuzuru" 0u0plz.png He even said one foot, two foot skating is the same. Just because he's always injured doesn't mean you get to decide whether he retires or not @DocumentaLy.

Patrick Chan was overscored but he did put in the skating skills and transitions so the scores weren't as absurd.

Nathan should lead but he has that huge margin thanks to being hugely overscored by the judges. Imagine having mostly crossovers, taking most of your time to set up jumps in your program but got 94 PCS. Even got higher GOEs for Stsq and spins than Yuzuru.

What a joke this "sports" is.

Anyway, I'm glad that Kaori's 3Loop is rewarded with the highest GOE this competition. It's what she deserves. Also imagine botching your jumps because you skated too fast, Boyang and Kaori can relate.

Ok...now tell me any skater who has the same quality of jumps as Yuzuru with the amount of transitions he has and the way he matches the jumps to the music...

Also he’s literally only 24 why are you acting like he’s hella old and redundant now just because he didn’t win World’s and has had a major injury. I believe he’s still got things to show.

Congratulations to Nathan for winning World’s with 2 great skates, but honestly I don’t know why people are suddenly discrediting Yuzuru now. I feel like every season we have this where if he doesn’t win a competition he’s suddenly outdated. Wait a few seasons and even if he’s not winning competitions what gives people the right to tell him to retire? He’ll retire when he wants to

Honestly Documentaly must not follow figure skating very closely because Yuzu has had seasons in the past where he didn't win gold and placed second or even third. Yuzu has acknowledged that he's not perfect though he strives to be.

Ngl they have the same energy as those commentators who talk about Yuzu being ‘past his prime’ bc he didn’t win the first few competitions of the season even though he’s NOTORIOUS for bombing the first few comps
