Also Zhou being awarded the silver for underrotating nearly all of his quads on a consistent basis... 0u0plz.png  Anyway. Glad Jason medaled!

Johnny Weir was also going on and on about how no one, even Yuzuru, could have beaten Nathan's free. American hyperbole really is something. Especially when Nathan has documented issues with dealing with pressure!!! He's had such incredible growth this year and is certainly up for going head to head with Yuzuru, but geez, leave him alone.

Yeah. Nathan was hurt by that mad expectations during the Olympics.

I've also seen a wave of 'Alysa Liu is the new star' type of articles.

I'm glad she's not competing in seniors yet, so there won't be any expectations of becoming World Champion yet. Though by next Olympics, the pressure will be mad if she stays in form. She's the only American with the potential to compete with clean Alexandra, Anna and Alena.

My seating view of the ice!

BN1jX08.jpg

That is pretty good! I think you must be having a great time

I'm so sad for Kaori D:

The audience did not want the winning girls to leave lol

Yes, Kaori :(

Am happy for Elizabet, though. She had been seen as a major talent for years and it's finally translating into a major medal. + quad attemptsmile.png  I think senior ladies landing quads is now very close.

And Mai getting a medal here for the third year in a row. They should send her to 4 continents until the end of time.

I loved how he just fell to the ice after that. He truly gave it his all.

I made it Skate of the Week, because yeah:lol:

I love how he inched up the ranks each year, like he went from being in 5th in 2015 to 4th in 2016 to 3rd in 2017 to 2nd in 2018 and then finally won 1st this year/season.

I have more to say on men since i was able to catch the stream.

Shome getting a 54321 is amazing, him collapsing after his skate made my heart break. I hope he gets good rest

Boyang getting silver made me happy since he's had a rough season

Vincent.......sigh, the judging was so weird. He shouldn't have been on the podium, im sorry. He got no calls on his ur in his short and got 100 pts which basically helped in the long run. The tech panel i guess woke up during the free skate cause his tes went from 100 to 88.

I think keegan should have gotten bronze but it is what it is.

Jun had a rough skate :( and he still has a comp in korea this week

All my love goes to Donovan Carillo from Mexico, he seemed like a crowd fave. He has so much charisma, i hope he can get a jumping coach.

For Ladies, Rika, the queen of the comebacks. Im so happy she got gold, but im upset kaori was left off the podium. If the usfs hadn't tried to fuck over people's scores to get their ladies on the podium, maybe she would have been.

Sui/han returned, and bless iloveyouplz.gif

As for ice dance, I'm happy with this podium. h/d got a lvl 1 on their lift and cost them a medal. Honestly after reading some of maddie's comments about levels maybe this is the wakeup call they need to start caring about them. Also, this is where crap judging harms skaters bc maddie said afterwards that they never changed the lift, cause they didn't think something was wrong with it, since it got them points. Judges are supposed to give feedback and when they don't it can harm skaters in this case.

ONEHALLYU HAS A FS THREAD?

OMG, I love your signature. Medvedeva is a Queen (and Yuzu is a King). Any other skaters you love?

Donovan Carrillo was a bit of a phenomenon in the JGP this year (and was quite popular last year as well). Everybody loves him.

The return of Sui/Han is going to make Worlds very interesting.

Rika vs Alina remains interesting for Worlds, though Rika has the edge so far. Elizabet might be a surprise threat, though. If she lands that quad...

I hope Jun and Boyang do well at Worlds.

I see what you're saying about the judging. That must be confusing and highly frustrating.

Zhenya and Yuzu are my skating King and Queen~ And as for other skaters, I like, for men I love Jun and Shoma (also Javi, but well, he's retired now). For ladies, Rika, Eunsoo, Satoko, and Kaori.

Some notes on 4CC. I'm happy Shoma won, was worried he might struggle do to this ankle, but he proved me wrong. Though I must say, I wish the judges or tech panel or w/e would either call all ur or call none, because they definitely ignored Shoma's

Vincent...I'm sorry, but I don't think he should have been on the podium. The judges ignored his ur in the short and robbed Keegan of a medal.

Jun had an unfortunate skate, which is a shame because I thought he'd snatch the gold or silver after the short.

As for ladies, I'm so happy for Rika~ Ma girl came through with the 3a. I hope she manages to land all three of them at worlds.

Gutted for Kaori, but happy for Mai. I personally think this should have been a Japanese sweep...but it is what it is.

And Eunsoo, she did well in the short, but struggled in the long. Unfortunate, but I have faith in her to do well at worlds (also, Raf's interaction with her in the k&c is so cute).

Oh, pairs and ice dance. Happy for Sui and Han, I love their programs. Also happy for Chock and Bates and the Canadian teams, they were all very enjoyable. Can't say I'm too upset about Hubbell and Donohue, their programs bore me to death and something about them rubs me the wrong way.

Same.

I love lots of skaters, though I am mostly a single skaters fan (ladies specifically). I try to remain unbiased when it comes to 'Skate of the Week' on the front page and things like that, so if you have any suggestions in the coming weeks, let me know.

It's such a great time to be a FS fan, with so many cool skaters. The way they improve is phenomenal.

With your male skaters favourites, you must have really liked the Olympics podiumlaugh.png

With your female skaters favourites, I think you'll get along well with fallingslowly, who often posts here as well.

Eunsoo has massive potential, but struggles with errors. It reminds me a bit of Rika in juniors last year; she could medal if she did well. Of course Rika isn't faultless either, but her base value is so high that she can afford some.

It's good to see Sui/Han again. They'll be going for that gold at the OlympicsQRLGYBO.png

So proud D:

She also said Liza deserves to be on the Worlds teamsmile.png

It's quite difficult to see who should be sent this year, since they all have strong and weak points (unlike last year when it was clearly: Evgenia, Alina and someone)

My opinion:

Alina: wasn't perfect this season, but still had the best international results. I notice that people often talk about her failures, but even a silver at GPF or Euros is considered a failure for her. She still has the highest base value and gets close enough to it to be a major threat. She's also the only one who can challenge a cleanish Rika (a clean Rika can't be challenged imo). Should definitely be sent.

Liza: Such a strong start of season. Medalled at GPF and did well all round. Her 3A makes her a medal threat (though not gold unless Alina and Rika bomb). But then she got ill and now she's slightly more of question mark. Still deserves to be sent imo. Evgenia beat her this weekend, but not by much.

Sofia: What? This girl did so well, got to GPF and won Europeans. Who would have thought one year ago? Sure, she was at JGPF, but ended last and back then it still seemed Alina, Evgenia and perhaps Maria would be ruling supreme. Her European title especially should be taken into account: should be sent

Evgenia: This year was such a struggle, but Russian Nationals was her turning point. The hate got to her, but the cheers from her home country brought her confidence back. This resulted in a win this weekend, which brought her back into the conversation. Still, I think it's best if she's not sent and can continue this upwards path without a stressful worlds. She's still adjusting her technique and that makes her less footsure than before. I say this, but am less convinced than before that she shouldn't be sent, as she is almost her old self again.

Stanislava: Does well at Russian competitions (helped by generous judging imo), but fails at major international competitions. She's had two chances last year, in senior and junior worlds, and she didn't make a case for herself at Europeans this year either. Should not be sent. I think she really needs to prove herself internationally next year, and no more major assignments until she does, no matter what she does at Nationals.

EVGENIA'S GOING TO WORLDS!!!!

rlytearpls.png at the start of this year, I thought she out, but she's back in. Sofia being in the Worlds Team, I would never have expected at the start of this season, but she's going in as the reigning European Championdatassplz.png

Am sad about Liza, though.
