Yuna is my number 1 of all time, since she peaked my interest in the sport

My fave skaters , as you can tell from my sig, are American ice dance team the Shibs

I was so happy they got bronze, tho imo they deserved silver. They're taking a break this season so i could care less about ice dance until they come back next season to save ice dance cause boy is it shit right now

Other skaters I love, Wakaba Higuchi and Marin Honda have to be up there. Elizaveta is great on twitter and I've taken a liking to her. For men, i don't have favorites they're all great. I don't follow pairs as closely but i do like Sui/Han

i shouldn't attach myself to juniors, but Im so happy for Yelim for getting into the GPF

sadly couldn't keep up with NHK cause of time difference, but WOW at Rika!

I know its to early to call but if she keeps up like this, I can see her winning worlds ahmagahplz.png

my poor bby Eunsoo was so shaken up from crashing into Mai at practice she underperformed, but I'm still so impressed by her. I can see her being a dark horse in the future

Also, I'm loving Mariah Bell, she's such a ray of sunshine and she got her best score at this comp.

And wow @ ice dance rly dying. Tho hey Kaitlyn and Jean-Luc are my number 1 this season for ice dance so im glad they won

Thoughts:

Compared to SKAM, im happy with how Marin did. She seemed happy in the K&C but she deserved better. Also, lol @ raf being a total softie for her

Evgenia warstarplz.png  im  not a fan but it sucks what happened. She's adjusting, better now in the post olympic season than after. Im scared tho cause the baby russians are coming and if she doesn't improve fast she will get overlooked

Rika did THAT! She's coming for everyone. Every senior and junior should fear her cause she has it all imo.

Bradie , like no comment. I don't want to be mean, but she's so boring and I can't connect with her at all. I need Mariah Bell to rise at Nationals, and the usfed needs to do to Alysa what they did for Nathan and not have her win.

JASON DID THAT! He's such a sweet bean, im so proud.

Junhwan is going to the final, thank you skating gods!

P/C, not a fan and im over ice dance.

Mariah’s FS is gorgeous!! She’s such a beautiful skater to watch. Puts all her emotion into it and that’s what makes it so lovely.

Bradie and even Karen can go suck it. I’m not a fan of Karen tbh. Her behavior this year of withdrawing from competitions extremely last minute is so offputting and demonstrates a lack of courtesy. When I met her after a show earlier this year, she looked like she didn’t even want to be there.

Alina’s gorgeous but I hate how she’s skating such terrible programs. These Russian girls have the same formula, and we can expect them to crank out wins every time. I’m glad Rika is giving Alina a run for her money though. It’s refreshing to see someone actually put up a challenge.

Thank god im not the only one who feels this way. Im not a fan of Karen's skating and she's so inconsistent with her jumps you never know whats going to happen. She's not a good basket to put all your eggs in, which makes the usfed pushing Bradie make more sense

Mariah >>> Karen>>>>>>> > Bradie for me. Tho there's Starr Andrews who might surprise, I can see her placing at Nationals. She's not up to the international level but for the US she's good.

Alina's programs are so tragic, like how is the Olympic Gold medalists skating to  that. Someone on twitter wrote the Rika might need 3 triple axels to combat Alina's inflated scores and I lowkey agree.

Both Yelim and Jun are in  4th interesting

Im just so proud of Rika

Alena Kostornia was amazing, I remember being just in awe by her performance

I was watching it during my chem lecture and the girl sitting behind me said that she looked amazing, so Alena's impact

tbh there were no worthy skates at Tallin that I saw but Rika once again came through as a Skate of the Week candidate!

I think Alina's overscoring days are coming to an end now that the judges have seen that a clean Rika can beat her. The poor girl looks like she's hanging on by a thread. :( I despise Eteri, I really do.

Yup, they even asked alina if she was feeling the pressure, but she passed on the question.

As harsh as this sound we always knew it was going to happen whether it be Rika or one of the bby russsians going to seniors next year. I hope she doesn't lose confidence tho, she doesn't need to win every competition

JUNLIEEEEETTTTT!!!!!

God I'm so happy for him, he started off with 1 gp assignment and ended up getting bronze in the final. He trended on daum for while.

I knew there was going to be discourse with no matter who won btw nathan and shoma, i didn't rly like either of their programs so i didn't care all that much

Rika bby im so proud. God she is a star and is only going more up from here.

S/B got 4th and im sad, they had the best programs this season. And I just don't like H/D tbh ugh but I guess ill endure them

To juniors:

Ok Stephen I see you. Im not a fan of his skating but he's 13, he'll grow and mature so I don't really hold it against him

ALENA !!!!! Finally got the gold she deserved. I think Ted summed it up the best, I don't see her as a junior but as a senior. She has so much poise and grace for someone her age.

Yelim rlytearpls.png  i hope she's proud of what she did. The only non russian in the final is a feat in it of itself.

Alena won and Jun medalled but Yelim came in last

Marin bby no warstarplz.png

Rika will comeback in the fs, i just know she will

WAKABA IS BACK!!!! I need one of my main ladies doing well, so bless

Alena K. that fall came out of nowhere, hopefully she climbs up during the fs. Alina in 1st not shocking, and trusova did really well, i thought she'd get 3rd or 4th but she surprised

If russian fed doesn't chose Sofia for russian team imma lose it, she made it all the way to the gpf, she's more consistent

Same goes for Elizaveta tho I have a feeling they will save a spot for her since she won bronze

Evgenia is in 14th  is just rough, unless she has the skate of her life, I just don't see her placing anywhere near the top 5

Russian Ladies recap:

OMG ANNA !!! Im so happy for her, especially since she didn't do so good at the gpf. Lol @ tat losing her mind when she landed her quad

Im guessing they're going to make her go senior next season

Trusova and kostornia  did great as expected. I know we're not supposed try to predict these things, but I did ponder a triple A podium, I just didn't get the placement.

So, a full junior podium on a senior event, how wild

Alina was rough, something seemed off but maybe that was just me

Russian fed really is making it obvious on how their pushing Stanislava

Those who are going to euros has been semi decided :

Alina

Stanislava

and they'll decide the other later

so I found out that the 4CC 2019 is going to be held 20 minutes from where I live and I'm wondering if I should get started on buying tickets now, like do tickets sell out fast or would it still be possible to get tickets at the event? I can't afford to go see all the programs though so I'll probably just get tickets to see the FS in person (esp the Ladies) and then watch the other parts of the competition like the SP and the Exhibition online.

this is super late so idk if your still looking but they have tickets on groupon

euros:

vanessa and morgan won and can i say how happy i am, their reaction is the cutest. And congrats France on their first pairs euros win in forever

mikhail not only surviving the short but leading it has me living. He is def on of my faves when it comes to the men

I think sofia should be ahead of alina, watching alina these days is painful. Her jumps are so underrotated and its obvious to a noob like me who still isn't 100% well versed on tech

I was so happy for him! It was really nice to see him smile for once. lovestruck.png

Samarin's scoring wasn't warranted, as per usual, lol. And Javi's 4S wasn't underrotated. He's quite pissed about it, apparently.

RusFed never learns re: Stasya, so I anticipate that they'll send her anyway. Might as well expect the worst so the best case scenario can surprise me if it happens, lmao.

US Nats update: Kayne/O'Shea, Cain/LeDuc (glad to see Ashley is well!), and Denney/Frazier lead in pairs. The Knierims are in sixth.

Bradie Tennell leads in ladies, followed by Alysa Liu and Mariah Bell.

Seeing Alysa's 3A in HD...whew. That technique is bad. She has literally no speed going into it and simply relies on being small so she can spin quickly enough. She won't carry it into juniors, let alone seniors, if she doesn't get a jump technician.

Mariah underrotated the second jump in her 3-3, breaking my heart yet again. She did score over 70, though, so all hope is not lost.

Miraculously, Amber Glenn, Hanna Harrell, and Emmy Ma round out the top 6. They all had the skates of their lives, finally!

agree, its weird hearing the commentors hype it up. her coach isn't used to coaching someone at alysa's level and it shows sometimes

I do think she's adorable tho, i hope she can get one before she hits juniors

amber glen and emmy ma did so well, im so happy

I have more to say on men since i was able to catch the stream.

Shome getting a 54321 is amazing, him collapsing after his skate made my heart break. I hope he gets good rest

Boyang getting silver made me happy since he's had a rough season

Vincent.......sigh, the judging was so weird. He shouldn't have been on the podium, im sorry. He got no calls on his ur in his short and got 100 pts which basically helped in the long run. The tech panel i guess woke up during the free skate cause his tes went from 100 to 88.

I think keegan should have gotten bronze but it is what it is.

Jun had a rough skate :( and he still has a comp in korea this week

All my love goes to Donovan Carillo from Mexico, he seemed like a crowd fave. He has so much charisma, i hope he can get a jumping coach.

For Ladies, Rika, the queen of the comebacks. Im so happy she got gold, but im upset kaori was left off the podium. If the usfs hadn't tried to fuck over people's scores to get their ladies on the podium, maybe she would have been.

Sui/han returned, and bless iloveyouplz.gif

As for ice dance, I'm happy with this podium. h/d got a lvl 1 on their lift and cost them a medal. Honestly after reading some of maddie's comments about levels maybe this is the wakeup call they need to start caring about them. Also, this is where crap judging harms skaters bc maddie said afterwards that they never changed the lift, cause they didn't think something was wrong with it, since it got them points. Judges are supposed to give feedback and when they don't it can harm skaters in this case.
