Do your parents get angry when you turn of the tv while they are sleeping?

My mum falls asleep watching the tv most of the time so I turn it off while she is sleeping. But most of the time, she wakes up just after I do that  & starts yelling at me saying she was just resting her eyes, her ears were following the tv etc. I guess it's the sudden disappearance of the voice of tv that wakes her up cuz I don't think it's possible for someone to be awake while snoring 

I thought this was a problem in our family only. But while having a random conversation with my classmates some time ago, I realized that it's a thing in my friends' houses as well...

 

So my question is, since we are all living in different parts of the world, is it a thing in your area too?

set up tv alarm where tv turns off after 1 hour etc, so she wont know who closed hehehhe

My father does that all the time and he gets mad at us for wasting electricity. lol

close the fuse of the living room, maybe they will think they used too much electric

My grandma insists on leaving the tv on all night long. I just turn the sound down.

I never turn it off since I know they'd be mad, I just tell them to go to sleep. I think it's not really a thing but it happens sometimes with older people

I don't think we have a specific fuse for the living room but still thanks for your advice
