Is it worth it?

I'll use it for coding, and learn photo and video editing

I'm having a hard time if I'll add 21 inch or the 27 inch to one of my options, Kinda leaning to the 27 inch since it got larger screen lol

EDIT: It's my first time to use MacOS if ever...

OHpeeps help me pls

It's definitely worth it, plus OS X is a very nice OS, which is really simple to pick up for new people, but also does a lot of things better than Windows

Plus it just looks so beautiful, and so does the rest of the Mac

Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X is the only reason why you should get a Mac. I don't see any value getting them. You can't even watch Youtube 4k in hardware acceleration mode(unless running under Windows).smile.png

You can though??

Also a lot of creatives prefer Mac's for designing which is what the OP wants to use it for so...

True, I read from reviews why they are still on par with others and speaking of beautiful, it IS aesthetically beautiful

Why I consider Apple to begin with is because they distribute Final Cut Pro X, but thanks for the advice. I'll try to review more about it smile.png

Yes, a lot of them. People also switched when they are running Adobe products too. They are better off running in Windows. If really for productively, only Final Cut Pro X and Logic Pro X(maybe some other optimized apps) are the only reasons to get a Mac.

I'm a web dev and mostly they consider peeps with knowledge in photo editing so...

i see, well in my opinion it depends on your budget and what your gonna be using most of the time, i asume your gonna use photoshop and after effects/premier and if your just starting a cheaper option with a fast cpu will work just fine

if your gonna be using sublime (or the tool you use) mainly and just ps/ae on the side or you want to fully learn and expertise on the editing programs it depends

also if you move around a lot a laptop may be better since imacs are desktop and working long hours is a pain in the ass

Most designers I'm aware of run adobe software on Mac's, because for the majority of people, Mac's are better when it comes to design

I'm really tempted with the 27inch and probably do the upgrade later but I guess you got a point since it will be cheaper. The prices are killing me  unsure.png

You should look at the refurbished listings

https://www.apple.com/shop/browse/home/specialdeals/mac/imac/27

if you're gonna end up doing a lot of HD video editing 8GB RAM won't do but you can upgrade that with third party.

no problem if i can tell you 1 more thing from experience is dont spend a big sum of money on something you are still unsure about just start with the basics and if you end up liking it then upgrade

good luck sis :)
