I want to travel to Japan, Australia, France,Spain and the UK. By 2022 that is Japan and Australia when I'm 23-24.  Then 2023 to France, UK and Spain when I'm 24-25.

Japan will cost me about $5500

Australia will cost me about $4500-$5500

The rest I haven't done yet. But yea I'm only going to vacation there about 6-8 days each.

5.5k for Japan? That’s very expensive for 6-8 days. I’m going for 13 days and it’s gonna cost me less than 4K

Well the airfare costs about 2k, then the airbnb is another 1k. So that's 3k right there, idk what I'll do there so 2.5k is the max I'll spend when I'm there...assuming if I stay a full 8 days there.

Damn you are lucky af, I wish it could be that simple lmao

Why 1k for Airbnb? That’s expensive for 6-8 days. They have much cheaper options for like $50 bucks a night. Even capsule hotels. I think you should do more research. Also my flight ticket was 1.5k Canadian (so around 1.2k usd?) And that was a nonstop direct flight. If I got one with stops it would have dropped to 900 Canadian Which is like 700 usd.

I think you need to do more research Cuz the prices you put are a bit much imo. Also 2.5k in 8 days? What are you planning on buying? Lol. That’s a lot of money. Unless you’re going on full shopping sprees, I don’t see people spending this much.

Travelling on a budget is good. I’m not saying don’t do anything cuz I mean I booked at an expensive sushi restaurant and will take the bullet train etc but I think being smart with how to spend will reduce your cost a lot without reducing the quality of your vacation :)

So I eventually want to live and work overseas potentially in Japan, Hong Kong or New York (I'm studying Journalism so HK and NY have a lot of potential employers for my field)

I'm planning on going to Japan in Jan-Feb 2020 (for the Sapporo Snow Festival), I've estimated the cost to be around $4-5 K (3 p) It all just depends on whether I get paid employment over the Summer break and am able to get a down payment on the flights

Now that I have travelled to Japan already, I don't really have a destination I'm yearning for. I only wanna revisit places I've been to and explore them more (mainly Spain and other East Asian countries). More than vacation, I want to stay at certain places for an extended amount of time (2 months to a year). For Spain I'm more than happy doing that alone, but for East Asia and especially Japan I would like to have a travelling companion.

Though these are more long-term goals and I don't have any estimated costs and the like. Long-tem would also mean I would have some sort of income while being abroad.

If you find that you really enjoy one of those places, do you plan to live in one of those areas or learn the language?

Excellent. If you work in Hong Kong, how well prepared are you as it relates to the language and culture?

Nice, maybe you can eventually share some advice and great spots for others in the thread who may eventually go to the same places.
