There's going to be a remake of one of my favorite beloved animated shows? Where have I been? 0u0plz.png

 

If it's live action then I won't get my hopes up.

 

yeah netflix is producing and it's gonna be written by the original writers

I mean since it's live action i can almost guarantee it will be cringy at some point.

are they going to whitewash it again like the first live action?

unlikely. IT will probably be a mostly asian cast. probably like east asian for the fire nation, south asian and indian for the earth kingdome. They might use native american tho for water tribe since this is what they look like and the culture come from. 

 

That said i doubt it will be 100% asian simply because of the sheer number of actor they would need with perfect english and the right visual. But i have no doubt all the main character will be asian or of native decent.

 

 

I think there a much bigger chance of it looking tacky or cringy like those chinese big budget movie.

I dunno u might be right its closer to chinese. And fire nation japanese.Tbh i doub't they will care and will just cast any asian actor that look similar to the cartoon counterpart.

I just read some articles about it earlier, the original creators confirmed that they'll going to stay true to the story as possible and will cast the right ethnicity/race for the characters so we can now expect that earth kingdom will be filled with chinese, fire nation will be japanese ( you can clearly tell the japanese culture ) and maybe native americans for the water tribe? Aang and air temple will be asians too, no doubt.

It's by the original writers so I guess I have a bit of hope, but at the same time I want them to leave it alone since it's so perfect and Idk whether they can recreate it in live-action :/

Water Nation are NOT native American, they're Inuit. And Air Nomads are Tibetan most likely.

Inuit are a tribe of native american from the artic group..... there's also not enough actor of them to cast as water tribe.

native american doesn't mean usa but everybody who was in the american continent before the european colonies and that also include mayan and aztec.
