After denying premature reports about a Chinese production, SBS finally confirms that the Good Sunday variety program “Running Man†is indeed having a version in China.

On May 30, a representative from SBS confirmed that a Chinese version of “Running Man†is in the works. “We are currently in negotiations with Zhejiang Satellite TV for the joint production of ‘Running Man’ in China,†said SBS.

Discussion about the details for the Chinese version of “Running Man†ends this June and the show starts airing in China through Zhejiang Satellite TV by the fourth quarter of this year.

Aside from PD Jo Hyo Jin, major staff from “Running Man†will also participate in the joint production. Also, Chinese stars will be featured as â€Running Man†characters that will capture the hearts of the viewers in this version of the show.

Waiit Wait. I have just woken up so I am a little slow to understand but does it mean that some staff members of Running Man are going to mean ? Like some PDs ? Or just help to produce the show ? Like having two jobs ?

Oh gosh', I was already heartbroken that Myuk PD left. He was the funniest and spitiest PD ever O.O And now, this ?

Anyway, Running Man is doing good. I bet they are racking all the money with the rights of airing in most Asian countries and now versions. I am pretty sure other will follow. So, SBS restruscturation in June doesn't concern them pff.

Well, it doesn't look that bad :D Gosh', thank you, I really thought they would leave and I would just be so sad.

Anyway, because the pictures are so small, I don't know who they are ? At least, they kept the same number of members and put one girl with 6 guys. And, it doesn't seem like they picked people who looked like the Korean members. So often people try to imitate everything because it's successful and ending up being a big mess but whatever, it looks cool. Is there the main MC of Happy Camp ? A member of fx said that he was as famous and talented as Yoo Jae Suk. I think it would have been pretty amazing to see him there. He is really hilarious !

Will be interesting to see how it is, because it's not the concept that makes RM work, but the regular cast.

This. Idk why but lately, RM's concept has been so weak and the reason why I'm holding on is the cast (and the occasional golden episodes). How are variety shows of this genre accepted in China? I really know nothing about China's variety so idk if they could really sell it.

Korean shows have been popular in China going back to X-man and some of the older ones, but recently they've been remaking Korean shows and they've been getting very good ratings.

The Chinese version of Dad, Where are you Going? and I Am A Singer have been two of the top rated tv programs this past year. I think Dad Where are You going was in the 20-25% rating area which is extremely high and they even made a movie version of it which came out this winter.
