are pages dedicated to problematic kpop idols good?

They need to get a life. I understand leaving a comment to criticize the celebrity, but an entire blog dedicated to nitpicking the faults of fellow human beings? How pathetic. Especially when they reach for associations or have weak proof to back it up.

hmmm, i've seen them, and i think its good to make people aware that idols aren't all perfect, and good for people who don't want to stan people that don't agree with their views

but sometimes it can be really harmful? esp, since i've seen a lot of those pages directly target an idol they just don't like, and paint them in a bad light, and essentially tell people they aren't allowed to like that group.

i feel like they can be very hypocritical

i think yfap type pages are problematic bc there's never any levels. like someone could wear a bindi and someone else could commit assault and they'd both just be listed as problematic. even "problematic" things done by the same person aren't graded on a scale. it's very black and white.

they're dumb. most of the time with cherry picking, are hypocritical, and biased

even if they're not that they're still a waste of time. if an idol was 'problematic' enough their controversies would be brought up regardless of the convo. (see leeteuk or shindong.)

Most of these blogs don't give a crap about the problematic things that an idol has done, they just love to call people out. Rather than actually caring about the issue at hand (whether it be racism, a crime or anything else), they're just genuinely happy that an idol has messed up. I mean, having a whole blog dedicated to problematic issues.. they're obviously waiting at the chance to write another post about an idol.

The blogs are pure trash and basically contribute to the main reason why every time a idol fucks up the conversation goes in circles. And the worst one are the ones that basically reach for offenses. nastyidols is the worst of them all and when people use it to drag idols, i immediately stop taking them seriously no matter if i like the idol or not because the site is pure bullshit and some of the entry even reach hard.

People use blogs like this mostly to brag about how "unproblematic" (ugh at this word)  thier fave is or to shame and drag people who stan a group they dislike, they never ever use em to discuss the issue at all. Bringing YFIP culture to the kpop fandom was the worst idea the internet ever did.

It leads to an attitude where people legitimately think that because someone hasn’t publicly done something listed on one of those pages they’re “â€unproblematicâ€â€... Like someone could secretly be a huge bigot but while never hinting at it on camera but you think they’re a better person than someone who accidentally made a faux pas regarding a culture they’ve literally never encountered irl...? That kind of situation. It’s weird. That being said it’s good to be critical of things you find harmful regardless of who does them. Hearing the word problematic makes me cringe at this point
