How Japanese People Live To Be 100

"It's important to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but human relationships are the most important."

So true. In most cases it's not lifestyles that affect our health but stress instead. Socialising is such a good way to buffer stress, and it's not surprising Japan has the highest life expectancy knowing that they're a collectivist community too. I read a book on Ikigai (japanese for "a reason for being") recently and it said one of the most important things is having a meaning in life and something that engages you. I was reminded of that when she said "I'm always socialising when I'm enjoying my hobbies"; it's like the best of both worlds.

The only secret to live +100 is wanting to live that long; there's people who are burnt out by when they are 40's and then there's no more surprise, you did everything, you don't have the ludic aspect of life anymore, so you stop caring and wanting to last; and besides it's not how long you live, there's no award for that shit, but actually meaning your life even if it would end tomorrow, do what you came for into this wolrd
