Yu, who has been engaged with shoujo manga always dreamed of someone confessing to her and experience the emotions of the stories she had read. However, when finally a boy declares to her she did not felt anything and, on top of that, she has not answer him yet. On the meantime she caught the student council president of her school, Nanami, rejecting a love confession. Amazed at such action Yuu ask Nanami for advice but later Nanami ends up confessing to Yu.

Can we please take a moment to appreciate those beautiful transitions. Gosh, that is such a visual orgasm.

Anyway, a solid first episode but it will depend if you are into these kind of stories, not yuri/shojo ai ones but slow romantic ones. I love how they throw the budget in this episode for the introspection parts of Yu, turning into some surrealistic scenario but done right, that's my sh*t down there but besides that it felt alright so far, definitely not bat but neither amazing. And the short, black haired friend of Yu is so #bestgirlcandidate material with the few seconds she had.

Yuu's character is being fleshed out extremely well to the point you can feel her character standing out among the cast (well...she is the MC) but in a sense none of the rest of the cast steal her protagonism.

However, I wonder if by next episode the overall story will kick in, because so far Yuu (and thus, #bestgirl) anxiousness of not being able to feel anything about love is pretty much carrying the show so far but with the feeling that overall something is happening but is not as interesting as Yuu's world...and I do not mind that...but still.

Yuu is gonna be an interesting character for sure.

Yuu is the star, the center, no matter how the show tries to give spotlight to the rest of the cast, Yuu will overshadow them and I love it.

For real, the show really put effort to provide some quality to the side characters' backgrounds and even the love "interest" - Nanami - as well but Yuu's inner world overshadows them so easily without trying, she is such an interesting character in trying to find about love.

But I still feel something is missing, but do not know why.

Yuu's introspection still the show's main attraction. However, with now, appereantly, an overall plot kicking in I feel Yuu will hardly carry the show if it keeps going this way.

Nanami and the rest of the cast were fleshed out in detail regarding their emotions which is rare to do it and nail it in delivering the message but...they were not that interesting compared to Yuu and yeah, the secuences without Yuu as the main were boring. However, Maki appereance may balance things but I do not know for how long since the overall plot ain't that interesting yet.

Yuu is still the star, and giving time to the rest of the cast proved that. But it left clear Yuu can only hold it until certain point.

The best episode so far, a general plot finally kicked in, side plots as well, the rest of the cast (well...Nanami and Sayaka) are now as interesting as Yuu, the building of the relationship between Yuu and Nanami was developed well and the production did not got loose. Really an episode which nailed it what it was aiming for. On negative note, not a big fan about the amount of the visual metephors in the sense on how the the timing of the event went along with the key points of the plot and it seems there will not be more introspections of Yuu inner world like before.

A Sayaka focused episode and it went alright, some stuff were reviewed but this time from Sayaka and Nanami point of view altho it did not changed or added anything significantly new to the plot on those. On a side note, the introduction of an actual lesbian couple was a nice touch.

This time it put the "love rivals" face to face but due the series setting their dynamics was refreshing...somehow so seeing them talking about Nanami was something, can't say it was a strong episode nut neither a weak one, just a laid-back one on the anime's standards.

Yes! Yuu's representation of her introspections is back! but at the cost that some scenes felt...off in the production deparment, not visually but in the audio department. Anyway, kiss aside, another laid-back episode there some minor progression on the overall plot but not significant enough. On the other hand, the relay-race secuence was beautiful and well executed.

Finally the overall plot is on the spotlight and not gonna lie, it went went pretty neat compared to previous episodes where Yuu's was holding everything. The emphazis on the motives to keep with the Student Council's play was entertaining to watch and deam Kano have some writting skills. Actually, I'm surprised I enjoyed this episode more which did not focused much on YuuxNanami dynamics.

A laid-back episode so there was nothing much going on...on the first half because HOLY SHIT that second half was really great, Nanami facing the true colors of her sisters was handled masterfully - right pace, not dragged, complex approach without feeling pretentious, enough dosis of drama- and well executed, even the aftermath of that with Nanami and Sayaka on how it affect their world was great. Those moments definetely set Bloom Into You aside of other romances and put it in a league of it's own...however, just those moments because the first half and the final minutes hold it back to be memorable.

Yuu's friend is my spirit animal.

Back to the episode, this episode took it's time to develop the relation between Yuu and Nanami and take it to a new level with the current scenario, it was nice and probably a nice build-up to the finale.

This final episode was...underwhelming, the previous episodes had set the table for something greater and amazing but they were tossed out in the first half (which was short) and then spend the rest of the episode on #CGDCT stuff. I was really looking forward for the play and how will play out on Nanami and how extended will be the whole sister fiasco...but oh well.

Like Bunny Girl Senpai, is not among my favorites of the season but to deny it´s virtues would be a crime: nice fleshed out characters, beautiful production and somehow the right pacing if I act that the las 3 episodes never existed. And, like Bunny Girl Senpai, a recommended watch even for non-anime fans as well, in my opinion.
