I would think she had enough money to pay her fines in her pockets since she was one of the highing paid actress at one point. I guess not because she had to sell 41 OF HER APARTMENTS! amgplz.png

 

I mean, she probably doesn't have 100mil (or whatever she owes) stored in a bank account, no one would do that. She probably owns a lot of assets and now has to liquidate them to get enough money to pay off the fines.

Based on the fact that a lot of wealthy Chinese people like to speculate and buy real estate overseas as an investment, I’m guessing she probably bought them as investments (since the value of the apartments likely increased over time).

Anyways, damn Fan Bing Bing was packing away a lot of money since she could afford to buy +40 apartments!

Doesn't she also own some cafes/restaurants in China or are those joint ventures

fashion and cosmetic lines not restaurants but she has like 10-15% share so those are off limits

Nah that's nothing. Ma Sichun is nowhere near as rich as FBB and would be in the bottom in terms of earnings, but she has condos everywhere in China, Singapore and some other parts of Asia and like someone already mentioned Jackie Chan also has hundreds of it but at least they pay their taxes

That's a lot but it's kinda reassuring that it's really where she put her money - I mean, she didn't hide it in some tax haven, she invested it in a non-shady way and contributed to the economy.

 

(and frankly if it's false I'd prefer it to be true because the alternative IS much more shady).
