Sakura is a cheerful girl who dreams to become an idol, the day could not be any shinier, the sky any more clear for her first day in high school's second year...until that moment when all her life as she knew went down to south.

Yup, I've found my clusterfuck of wtfness, sh*tt*ness and randomness for this season. I just need my #yuribait quota from this kind of show and I could die happily.

I mean, as someone who is currently watching School-Live, when I heard about this announced as something that "will twist the zombie genere" I expected something along the lines of Gakkougurashi!, a generic horror-survival story with some extra elements here and there.

This first episode is far, very far, but very, very, very, (...), very far to shake the genre but it does not needed it. Zombie idol girls head-banging to metal and trying to eat their audience while wearing typical idol attire on a metal concert Is something I did not knew I needed it until I saw it. Althought it attempted to set some stone for some plot development is obvious this show will rely on the ridiculousness of the premise base on the preview for the next episode, which is a double edge sword and can play against it at any minimal mistake (recent victim of it being Chio's School road).

Whatever is the case, hope it can pull it off 'cause I'm down for this ride.

I felt sooner or later they would take the idol direction and thus not surprising this episode has mixed opinions.

The main point of çontroversy is the CGI secuence, was a mock to idol's anime or the production runned out of budget? How the show will go in the future will answer that but here the facts: I did not noticed a drop on quality regarding the 2D scenes, the 3D models were good, the choreography alright but the render...that was bad, really really bad and the low-framerate did not helped either. Moreover, the wacky comedy was tame compared to the previous episodes but it let space for some character building. It wasn't a deep one but enough to choose your favorite one (Saki - 80's Biker Gang leader - and Yugiri - Courtesan -).

Now the question is, will go full idol mode or return to it's original madness? As far as I can remember, they never said this is a parody show but neither that it would involve idols. Furthermore, the impressions from the beginning and this episode are completely different. The show is walking in a tight trope now but I do not mind either path since I already like some characters to see how they go.

To finish:

#LEGENDARYYAMADATAE is truly a legend lol.

The wacky comedy came back but is obvious is going for the Idol route but I do not mind.

One thing that is truly shocking is that the CG is canon, it was not a mock so there is already a solid negative point for the show unless it improves because gosh...that some PS2 emulator running on a middle gama pc quality. However, I loved how the show came back to make a fool of itself compared to last episode, it wasn't was crazy as the previous episode (in special episode 2) and sometimes it even felt forced but hilarous enough to make me laugh. On the other hand I'm wondering were all this actual serious topics for the plot's universe will head, from Saki's wish to how they turned zombies (since the show brought the fact about cremation) probably would be forgotten but they are really something else.

It will be hard to top the 2 first episodes but is hard to deny is among the shows that has unique charisma this season and I love it so far.

The mood of the first two episodes came back, just almost half an hour of pure idol mind-fuckery and it was worth it. The girls being woken and their zombie state on an idol setting is really giving more than it should. Kotaru just keep giving more than it should, THE LEGENDARY YAMADA TAE too...this show shines more when it goes full ridiculous mode. However, these past episodes serious elements were slowly being slipped into the plot being the one on this episode the strongest so far and judging by the previews of next episode they will made them priority...or just a fake-out and go back for the lols.

Either case, I'm curious how it will play ouy.

We back on being serious but deam...those deaths tho.

I really liked how now the clash of different eras is present among the character relation, in special this time between Junko and AI since both were idols but

of different eras so their perspective of being an idol really differ from each other and how it affect their attitude on their current state. However, regarding drama at some points it felt the anime forced itself to be serious.

Still, ZLS really shines when it goes full wacky mode but this take on drama was nice compared to episode 3, altho can not say is my favorite since Junko and AI are not as my favorites as the others. I dare to say that Junko, AI and Sakura are the shows embodiments of the "Idol" tag so when they plot direction goes on them the results can vary depending if the viewer is fond on idol shows.

It felt refreshing seeing the manager trying to rasonate with Junko and going a bit deeper into the idol culture change through story and then go back to his usual self.

It was still about drama but with bits of their random humour through the episode, until that final performance which pretty much is the most WTF out of nowhere one since the rap battle. However now the ultimate question is, IS THE CG ON PORPUSE? Why a side-performance was still 2D? WIL THEY EVER FIX THE FRAMERATE? moreover I fell some of the serious elemnt that were introduced for an appereantly overall plot are slowly fading away but it would not matter I guess due the show's nature.

This last episode was something, actually, I dare to say it shown why Zombieland Saga is an idol show on it's own league.

This was another dramatic/serious episode but it's premise was something only Zombieland Saga can present and even pull off. I'm not saying the drama part was handled masterfully but executed well with the right timing on comedy to not lose it's initial wacky's spirit and the current mood of the episode.

This episode can be a hit or miss and even at times it semmed the production quality dropped but, I can say this is definetely the episode that show how Zombieland saga shine on it's own due it's unique charm despite being an idol show and that's because the writters are reaaly exploring the possibilities of the main cast neing zombies.

This episode may look borderline tryhard despite it's serious tone so depending how you are taking the series so far it could go in either way. In my case, giving the nature of the side characters introduced in this episode it went on the comedic way.

Like past episodes, the dramatic part was superficial but with enough elements to make it entertaining altho it felt at times vague compared to other episodes. I kinda expected more from a Saki focused episode but I am not complaning much of what I got.

The true ship of the season ladies and gentlemans LMAO

Another idol drama focus episode and using some old jokes and, surprisesingly, they worked. Probably the dissapointing thing would be...it was not a Yugiri episode but it set stone for, probably, the most important arc of thse series yet, Sakura's memories arc, which, seeing they are just two episodes left I believe that is how is going to end this season.

Seeing how the show is shaping, either is gonna pull of a Panty & Stocking or it will be time to greet our old good friend Rushed Ending.

I mean, this episode dropped some sick-ass plot bombs that aim for a greater long arc but there is only one episode left which make wonder what are they going to do. Now on the episode, it did alright in introducing the new elements and lol at going full Evangelion on Sakura's backstory, the absurd comedy was still there and managed to blend with the somber mood of the episode.

It was not a bad episode, just pretentious considering the finale is next week.

In a sense, it ended as expected, rushed but somehow it worked. Some stuff were left un-answered or with vague answers but it was clear they were never aiming to solve those but instead the idol-drama stuff. The final performance was pretty much the most Zombieland saga the show could ever be to send off this season, full idol mode but with an absurd situation involving the undead idols and, of course, the questionable CG and all of it worked.

There were some stuff that felt forced for the plot sake but whatever, at the end everything worked just fine.

Overall, Zombieland saga is one of those shows where it does not out-stand in most technical levels (writting, production) but shines on it's own due the premise given on how plays with it. It's biggest flaw would be how bait-like were the first two episodes and after episode 3 switched it's direction a bit, but once getting over it the anime surprisingly managed to deliver it's own twist on the idol genre with all it's flaws. Definitely worth to check at least the, now legendary, first two episodes.

On a side note I loved their outfits for the last performance
