How long did it take you to read Korean fluently (in your preferred area).

Recommended Posts

Disclaimer: I don't know where is the right place to post this, so apologies for that in advance.

So I learnt Hangul and because of like years of consuming Korean media outputs I can now read things in hangul and recognize certain words (as they are said) and what they meant. BUT my goal is to be able to read a newspaper fluently.

I want to go about this smartly, any useful tips on increasing the speed of reading + long -term memorization efficiently and how long would be a practical deadline to achieve my said goal?

Mind you, due to the nature of my life I have literally only 30 minutes to spare a day for this. I also know another language fluently, Arabic.

Please share your Korean learning experiences as well.

Thanks !

I started learning Korean 2 years ago with a private tutor. It took me 3 weeks to know all the alphabet and characters. As for reading FLUENTLY, a good 4-5 months with constant practice.

That is my favorite OMG member btw (her ad-libs are my fave part of any OMG song) QRLGYBO.png

It actually took me a fairly short time (like 2 days lmao), I made sure to get an instructor too for pronunciation purposes, she said I have a good ear for distinguishing the consonant sounds.

That is Seunghee. Oh My Girl's pocket rocket and mood maker. And yes she's an incredible vocalist.
