Or am I screwed lol

It’s for science and it’s on 3 chapters of the text book

I was thinking of reading everything again and taking notes of important details

Read it and make notes; try to understand it more than memorizing, aply what you read into real life events of your life, example: if it's gravity - how does aply to your everyday?, if it's cells, think about your own body and how it's constructed and how the cells act in that process

If you don't know the information, re-reading and taking notes seems like a logical step. Try looking online for information on the topic in the form of short cliff notes, to reduce how much you have to go through in the textbook and don't bother going over things you're confident you know. Once you feel like you've retained enough to not completely fail, try to get some sleep.

Also, music helps. Find a playlist with instrumentals that will sooth you but not put you to sleep - something that you like but won't be tempted to sing along to or get distracted by. A late night snack/drink wouldn't hurt.

You said "read everything again" meaning that you read those 3 chapters before? Or at least skimmed it? Split those main topics into these categories: "I understand well enough, I think I understand, and I don't get it". Start with the topics you don't know about and go from there.

I used YT sometimes, as there's many YT that goes over content that could help in general. Maybe those quizlet things? lol  If you have time, just go ahead and read the chapters but it's honestly a pain in the ass to read it all last minute, and you should still get hours of sleep to not fry your brain. Take some breaks in between your studying. If you create a study sheet, read it 3x the morning of your test. It should help you retain info a bit more.

3 chapters sound pretty easy to pull off, unless the exam focuses more on memorization and details rather than concept. I used to pull off all nighters many times reading like 10 chapters and it worked, but very tiring so if there's next time you'd start earlier.

As far as my personal approach, I prefer to read the chapters over carefully once (rather than just skipping to important parts) trying to really understand them holistically. Take short breaks in between. In my first read-over, I'd highlight things I feel are important and sometimes I'd summarize a certain paragraphs in my own words. Then take a longer break and nap or something. Then finally, I reread everything over again and this time, focus on the important stuff. Would try to memorize and understand some key words/vocabularies if exam involves those. Did you get a study guide or something from the professor/teacher? If so, they'd tell you some expectations, right? Follow that as well.

But first thing first, get off OH and start now imstupid.png

Don't know if you're still on here - you've probably started studying already but if its only 3 chapters that should be really doable. This is what I would do if I was you - I've crammed many times in my life so here are some tips:

1) Since you don't have a lot of time, you're going to have to memorize instead of really learning the material. It takes 7 times of reading something to memorize - so keep that in mind. So focus only on the big concepts.

2) I don't know your textbook but this is pretty standard across all textbooks - read the chapter summary, write down anything that the textbook author's have put emphasis on - anything in a box, anything italicized or bolded - those are probably pretty important ideas.

3) I don't know what science you're taking but I would also look at any diagrams/pictures to help you better understand - EX: the valves and ventricles of the heart

4) I also would not stay up all night - you brain on no sleep has been shown scientifically to be similar to being drunk. I would at least take a nap for a few hours and then wake up early and start studying again.
