My country's schooling system SUCKS, I want to go to school somewhere else

Australia is such a great place to live and I really, really love my city. But our education system is BROKEN. It sucks so bad. Everything is about ranks and scores and low-quality standardised testing every day of the week. It's really corrupt and they don't care about students at all. As a student who loves learning and working hard, it feels kind of unfair.

 

I'd love to go to school in America where schools are all indoors and intertwined (it's cool!) and it's the norm to dorm at uni and actually get to know people there. Or Japan where they've got the whole school clubs culture. Or Finland where they actually observe your development instead of act on pseudo-studies.

 

Everything here is just so lame and they only care about looking good so they can get their stupid funding and it distresses my poor little nerd heart ugh I'm done

UKs education system is the same in my friend's 6th form college (UKs ver of HS) they got kicked out because they weren't getting the grades required because they have a «reputation to uphold»

I’m from Australia too but isn’t it pretty much the same anywhere? Idk what state you’re from but I’m from NSW and I hate how they make you learn more stuff in 2 years than we ever have throughout our whole high school career. Year 7-10 felt like a breeze compared to Year 11-12. There’s too big of a jump between Year 10 and Year 11. Teachers always tell us that Uni is a lot easier and chill compared to your final 2 years of hs and I have exactly one year to grad and I can’t fucking wait

Nope, it's not the same everywhere else, internationally our standards are falling behind a lot.

 

But yeah, it's SO annoying how the curriculum is so repetitive for eleven years and then right at the very last minute they're like "surprise! you have to learn a bunch of super hard super specific stuff super fast or you're super screwed lol"
