On the one hand, it's easier on the eye for Americans to see K-pop groups since BTS has been quite ubiquitous. On the other hand, all groups and companies have their merit and certain fans shouldn't be petty flooding threads and posts telling others to thank BTS.

yes. I don't even like them but I don't get why it's so hard for people on this forum to admit. Corporations look at bts and see profit in pursuing this market so they will present opportunities to other groups, as we've seen happen.

The entertainment industry moves fast and it's all about jumping on trends. For example, the current success of CRA at the box office has led to studios greenlighting projects with Asians. Now whether it will pan out to something greater in the future remains to be seen but the immediate impact is there. And that's the key word, immediate. So no, snsd performing on letterman back in 2010 or wg touring with jobros is not the reason NCT/Monsta X is getting invited on shows now.

Yes.

These opportunities did not come easy for BTS. They had to prove themselves with their sales and fandom support.

However with BTS impact, the West is now trying to cash in early on young groups. There's great potential for there to be more global groups and money.

Yes!

However, BTS also rode the Hallyu wave and relied heavily on the globalization of Kpop to reach their level, but yes, they contributed to it massively by opening up the US market. Wonder Girls "broke into the West" previously but didn't really do anything for the genre (or themselves really). Whereas after BTS, many other groups were afforded the chance to sell themselves to the Western market.

With that said, if Kpop wasn't already so popular internationally then they wouldn't have received the global love they're receiving.

they're creating opportunities that did not exist until last year, even until this year. So yes they are opening that door for other groups to step foot and create a base for themselves, the excessive in your face thing is annoying...on both sides though lol

Yes, i don't even stan them or listen fully to their recent title tracks but look at their achievement. Isn't it obvious? But again, this is a topic that don't need to be discussed any further. It will only cause more mess
