LittleApplexx 72
I'm leaving for college tomorrow and I'm SO nervous omg. I have trouble adjusting to new places and I'm scared I won't fit in or make friends. I'm also worried about being away from home and feeling homesick. Now I can't stop stressing out and I feel a little panicky. Did you guys feel this way before you started freshman year? Any advice or tips? Shalnark 989
Don't worry, it doesn't take long to get used to college and I'm sure you are going to make many friends. Just try to be nice and also don't forget to focus on your classes. My first day of college I just striked conversation with a few girls from my major and and I tried to pay attention during all my classes, it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. pinkeuphoria 1,785
I think most people feel the same way when starting college, so don't worry ^.^ I'm sure you'll make friends and enjoy your time there. College is a great experience. If your campus has any clubs or a sorority/fraternity, those are great ways of meeting people outside of your classes. I joined a sorority, and some clubs, and that's how I met most of my friends on campus. Also, going to campus events and just being friendly is enough. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your first year! <

Pseudo 1,135
If your school offers a "Freshman Week" sort of thing, go to as many of those events as you can, especially ones pertaining to your major. Lots of people are new, nervous, and looking to make friends so just by saying "Hi, I'm Little Apple, what's your name!?" it's easy to strike up a conversation and make friends. I know personally I'm a huge introvert who didn't have many friends in high school but managed to make some long lasting friends from Freshman week. Best of luck, OP! College can be a very busy, stressful time but it's such a unique part of life, but one you'll never forget. Don't neglect to call your parents and have fun

electrapng 326
Like a few other people have said, the best thing you can do is get involved on campus! Freshman orientation is a good way to get connected. It's also very easy to make friends; since everyone is in the same boat, you're all kindred spirits. I've made friends by just complaining about the weather to the people behind me in line at Starbucks. When I was a freshman, I got involved in activities in my dorm. Making friends with people who lived in the same building as me made hanging out with them super easy, we would just meet up in the lobby and play video games and talk. I was also on hall council, it met every week at the same time and we organized events for the hall. It was fun, helped me to make friends, and will look good on job applications when I graduate. As for your studies, I think college is easier than high school. You have fewer classes per day, and you're studying things you actually care about, so homework isn't as unbearable (in my experience). Make sure to make enough time to study between your classes and free time and I promise you'll be fine. Good luck OP! We believe in you!
