Do you think is it possible to become smart?

I think some are born smarter but if you don’t keep yourself mentally active then you’ll grow dull you won’t be used to thinking logically anymore

Anyone can get smarter or lose it just like working out

You can know a lot of things but if you can’t think logically about them then are you really “smart

Well we're all dumb af as babies so obviously we can learn

Not necessarily dumb

Babies are pretty smart for well...babies

They can realize when someone is speaking a different language by four months by looking at visual cues like how someones facial features moves and at six can distinguish differences in sounds from different languages better than adults and start differentiating between the care givers from others

Yes it is possible but you have to work harder than people that are smarter than you at this moment.

It is always about the process more than your current level. For example, if you start at 0 while someone start at 3, if you study +2 while that someone study +1, you'll catch and even exceed them after some time. Also being around people smarter than you often times would help to raise your smartness too (make sure to focus on absorbing their knowledge or exchanging knowledge with them and not to copy them because people are different). Be sure to be patient with yourself too. If you have been doing your best or at the very least not laying still thinking nothing, most likely you are already smarter than you used to be.

Note: Thank you btw. I need some reminder too.

Note 2: Remember to study smart aside from study hard too. Develop your own studying strategy, that might be different from others.

yes I'm a prime example... I went from struggling to maintain a C in regular science classes to getting an A+ in AP biology AND passing the AP exam as well. it's possible if you don't give up and don't feel discouraged just work hard and don't compare yourself to others that are smarter!!!

yes I need to find a right way to keep the subjects in mind,I tried write, read , but it doesn't work for some subjects so I think I need to keep repeating it and repeating so I will finaly learn

It's nice to read it, I do compare myself with others and I know it isn't right

knowledge can be learnt, and expanded upon.

as for your thinking patterns, they're sort of built in, aren't they? thus some people will have a more arithmetic brain whereas others will have a brain more wired towards literary subjects, etc.

i am of the mentality that if you have a certain aptitude for a certain thing, then you're gonna excel in said thing regardless ( ex. a child who excels in X in a state school would be able to attain the same level of intellect in X in a public school)

however, i also know from experience that you can certainly become smart through work.

i was failing physics (i think i was at an E?) and within about 10 months i managed to earn a B in my exams, whereas with chemistry (a subject i'd generally always excelled in) i'd got a low C/high D. so it's always gonna be a mix of smartness and working hard at the end of the day.

Physics is really difficult so you really improved yourself!

I don't really know your situations so I am unsure on how important it is to excel in all subjects but if you are having troubles with several subjects and you have limited time & resources to excel in all of them, I think the best strategy is to first admit and accept your limitations. Focus first on the subjects that you are sure to excel in. Make sure you are secure on these subjects, then be strategic on the subjects that you are kinda still weak at. For example, I am kinda weak in Physics, so I kinda gave up on getting full score on the subjects but by examining the past exams I discovered that if I just focused on a few topics/chapters and understand them well, I would most likely have enough correct answers to get a B or at least pass the subject with good enough scores.

Also don't forget to take breaks when studying. Your brain absorbs knowledge better when you give them a break every 45 to 90 minutes. It's like your stomach in a way, it can't properly digest food (in this case new knowledge) if you keep on eating/learning non-stop.

And I think it's the night's sleep that actually makes you become smarter than you used to be, because it is during that downtime that your brain replays the whole information you learn on the day and make them stick.

I agree with you! I think the mistake I made was the fact that I spent time trying to learn things that I wouldn't learn for being so difficult and forgot to focus in "easy" subjects, but I'm like that because I have a hard exam in october, november and december is a test that universities offer you to get a major
