Do you enjoy living alone?

I'm going to start working after I graduate uni next summer and I've been thinking of renting my own apartment. As much as I love my roommates, I feel that having a year or so to myself would make me feel more independent and raise my self esteem. How was your experience living on your own? Any advice?

I lived alone for 3 years and I enjoyed it for the most part.  My best advice would be to stay safe, get to know your neighbors and keep in touch with your friends and family.  If something seems off don't be afraid to tell someone.  I actually had to leave my first apartment because of some sketchy stuff that was going on and I just didn't feel safe.  Ask if there are pets allowed, keeping a dog or cat would be helpful if you are feeling lonely and might make you feel more secure.

I just moved to live alone and it could possibly be the best thing I've ever wanted. I always need some privacy and I don't like being around people for too long (my parents included) so I'm fine on my own, even though I get lazy easily. I think it really depends on how you are as a person, not everyone can handle being alone for a long time. I personally don't mind, I don't even miss my friends or my parents at all currently. smile.png

Honestly, no. I've lived alone for a short period of time and didn't enjoy it. I just felt lonely and bored all the time when I didn't have work to do but couldn't exactly go anywhere either. I prefer to have company. I don't even have to be communicating with them or in the same room as them all the time. It's just the thought of being with somebody that's comforting I guess?

It definitely pushes you to do a lot more on your own but it does get pretty lonely. I also get paranoia when I'm home alone and there's just silence. My neighborhood is a relatively safe one too. It was better when my ex was around but yeah, got a cat and now things are better.

I'm living alone now and I miss my mom tbh. it's kinda hard because there are a lot of things that I need to buy (or learn how to live without them, like a washer for example) and that I used to have in my mom's house. I sometimes feel lonely and bored, I am hungry rn but I can't eat because my fridge isn't full like it is at my mom's and I can't spend too much money on food.... yeah quite difficult but at least I have my privacy here.

I'm living alone just because I'm studying in another city.
