Hi that law is actually from the old covenant and therefore not applicable. If you’d like me to explain more you’re welcome to dm me!

Sis, you handled that one well, and with so much class.

Just trying to live like Christ did! That’s attributed to the Holy Spirit, not me.

Applicable to what ? There are things in there that should not even influence people scary stuff. People just like to cherry pick. It's good more people recognize that religion isn't what it appears to be.

I’m not cherry picking actually. Old testament law is called the old covenant, it isn’t in practice today, hence why Christians wear clothes of different materials and don’t make animal sacrifices anymore. When Jesus came and lived perfectly and died on the cross he fulfilled the law. Because of the sinful nature of humans we’re unable to live perfectly as he did on earth. His death allows Christians to ask for forgiveness of their sins instead of being condemned by them. The new covenant was made through Jesus and so old testament laws, while they contain truth aren’t actively practiced by most modern Christians anymore.

Yea because of  common sense no one following that mess @bold, alot of the things are borrowed from other religions and cultural norms from that time period in the old testament. It's human evolving and civilizations becoming secular is why we have laws that don't follow such primitive law

Edit: Btw a religious book is not a historical book so it's just fiction about the New Testament.

I mean you can believe that but I just gave you an answer for the presentation of your verse. Christianity has been around since the beginning of time, and you have to ask yourself, where do these secular laws and norms even come from? Weren’t laws originally based on Christian theology?

I'm not saying that. I wasn't even arguing it's a known fact because civilizations that became secular didn't follow the law of the bible, btw I'm not arguing because the bible it literally a religious book not a historical one.

So what do you say to historical proofs and accounts that are non biblical of Jesus being a real person?

No Christianity has not been around since the beginning of time take a history class, many religions such as animism came before that. Many laws that are in the bible originate from Judaism law. Secular laws and norms came from many other civilizations before and after christianity.

There are none. So I have nothing to say, but Jesus is most definitely a religious piece of work not a historical one.

There are several actually. The writings of Flavius Josephus a non believer contain references to Jesus. Lucian and Celus who both lived within the timeframe of Jesus’ life denounced him as a scoundrel. There’s no question of his existence.

Yeah but scholars have been denouncing Jesus for centuries even today. Take a look at the flaws in the scientific origins of the world and creation. When you look at the theories in total they're very unsteady because they refuse to acknowledge even the possibility of an intelligent designer.

I was saved in my freshman year of high school! For a long time I struggled with self-harm, suicide and depression. I transferred to a Christian school due to bullying. Jesus quite literally saved my life. I believe in him because the world is too complicated not to. There's too many details and isms to believe we were made by chance. I've seen God work in ways that no human can.

No I was wrong, scholars do not refute the existence of a person named Jesus, but many of the things that happened in the bible is simply unverified. You can't say something happened if isn't verified through historical scholars. But anyways that's too much going into the bible because it has so many stories that defy reality, not going to believe anything in it or take it seriously.

I used to be a Christian from the age of 5-16 and went to Catholic school. But the more I thought about it the less credible it sounded and watched many documentaries which poked a lot of holes in the Christianity. I also went through reading the whole bible many times which made me think that maybe I'm wrong. Now I know I was wrong it's nothing more than a belief with no logic, just something with wistful beliefs and emotional attachment that ignores evidence based reasoning. Faith is literally believing in something with no evidence, I refuse to follow any type of religion.

Religion looks like it's on the decline maybe it's because people are evolving and questions their beliefs because it falls apart.
