What's your view on first dates? Gentleman always pays?

My friend brought up this discussion and they said that the

gentleman should always pay. I think the guy should pay but it would

be nice if the girl offers to pay cos it gives me that nice first impression to

me and also a sign of courtesy.

i've never gone out with a man so no comment on that but for all of my dates it's like whoever asks first pays for it and then we alternate after that

I don't think it's necessary. Splitting the bill is ok. I don't mind if I pay for the entire meal, either. I don't want to make a big deal out of it.

You should split the bill or agree on how you pay (ie the guy pays first, girl pays next, guy, girl so on)

if the guy offers to pay, ill let him (cos who would deny a free meal haha). but personally i prefer: 1st date, guy pays. 2nd date onwards, split the bill unless he offers lol

If I was the one inviting her (which is the case most of the time if you're a male) then I'd feel more obliged to pay for it so it's very important to keep in mind your budget and plan something according but splitting is also fair and there shouldn't be any problem with it.

 

In my experience is very rare for me to find a girl that expects the man to pay for everything, or at least I haven't ever dated someone like that, so it isn't that big a problem if you're a male.
