Most Black Kids Can’t Swim. It’s Not Just A Stereotype, It’s History.

I realized recently that my siblings and I are the only children in my extended family that can swim. None of my cousins can swim. Two of my cousins said we know how to swim because our mom isn't black and she took us swimming as kids, like how she was taken swimming as a kid.

Why do US Americans make statements that are relevant only to their country as if they were an universal thing?

Or as if only US Americans had internet and thus only them clicked on, watched or read their things?

Or as if only US people spoke English?

Well in the US I guess

The video said "67% of black kids and 40% of white kids has little to no swimming ability" in the US

That was pretty shocking information because I have never known or even heard about anyone who does't know how to swim. So you will als

Well that is probably because here in my country we have a lot of lakes so swimming is considered like basic skill everyone should have and teach to their kids and if some kid doesn't know how to swim when he/she starts school then he/she will learn how to swim at school.

It's an American TV show aimed at Americans. Get over yourself.

But this thread...

is it an American thread? Is it aimed at US citizens only?

Just start catching this up from now on, especially when US people interact with others. With time you'll see what I mean.

Like I said, get over yourself. I'm not here to please you.

Didn't some white neighbourhoods choose to fill their local pools with cement after desegregation rather than let black kids use them? No one is surprised.

Is this seriously true? Wtf.

In school it was mandatory for all kids to learn to swim at the local public pool/leisure centre (I knew some people whose school had its own pool). You had to at least get grade 1 which amounts to getting in the shallow end, splashing a bit, not drown and then get back out.

My black self cant swim either. It doesnt help that theres no swimming class near me and the only pool available in my neighborhood is a community center that's closed most of time.

The racists also dropped acid (the chemical) on civil rights protesters in the pool when there was desegregation of public pools. Id post the photo but i have no access to my computer yet.
