“The Crowned Clown†has revealed Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Sang Kyung’s fateful first meeting!

tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “The Crowned Clown†is about a king who brings a clown that looks identical to him into the palace in order to avoid those who want to kill him. Yeo Jin Goo will take on both the roles of the king Lee Heon, who’s life is threatened by enemies, and the clown Ha Seon, who will pretend to be the king. Kim Sang Kyung will take on the role of Lee Gyu, the chief royal secretary who helps the clown enter the palace due to his fierce loyalty to the king.

In the released stills, clown Yeo Jin Goo meets Kim Sang Kyung in the middle of the gibang (the place where courtesans live). Yeo Jin Goo’s eyes grow wide as Kim Sang Kyung grabs his collar, but Kim Sang Kyung also looks startled as if he’s seen a ghost.

In the next still, the two simply stare at each other as if time has stopped from the suffocating tension. Yeo Jin Goo’s and Kim Sang Kyung’s emotional expressions hint at the big events that are about to unfold.

The stills show Lee Gyu meeting the clown Ha Seon, who looks exactly like his king Lee Heon, for the first time. It’s an important scene in which the scenario of the “humble clown becoming the honorable king†develops. On this day of filming, Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Sang Kyung both showed their intense gazes and perfect chemistry, immersing themselves fully into the scene. Viewers can look forward to watching Yeo Jin Goo’s and Kim Sang Kyung’s powerful acting skills in “The Crowned Clown.â€

“The Crowned Clown,†which is a remake of the 2012 film “Masquerade,†will premiere on January 7 at 9:30 p.m. KST.

Ngl, I ship the king and queen, not the clown. I don’t think Yi Heon was like this before, and they were in love once. Like in their first scene together, he wasn’t as aggressive w/ her and said that she rejected him (he loves her). So w/ the opium and the court, that was probably how the king fell into madness. What makes it icky for me to ship Ha Seon and the queen is that she doesn’t know they’ve been switched. That part before he ran away, when she said that “if we’re together...â€, he had this weird look on his face.

did you perhaps watch the movie vers? i dont even dare to watch it, afraid it can be spoiled later on lollaugh.png

since this was a remake drama, im kinda curious if there will be any changes

otherwise, i won't be surprised if the queen end up with the clown.imstupid.png

I haven’t watched the movie, but according the Soompiers and blogs, the first 2 episodes basically covered the entire movie. So really, I don’t think the movie would spoil anything in the show. And since this is a remake drama w/ 16 episodes, there will probably be big changes. We’ll get a ton of backstory on Gwanghae and Queen, and why he became such a person which gives him a chance to slightly redeem himself.

Can’t really predict who our OTP will really be, bc you have:

- Ha Seon and his goodness that attracts the Queen but she’s doesn’t know about the switch, which puts their relationship in a weird position

- Lee Heon who once had an emotional connection w/ Queen and he still loves her, but he’s MIA right now and he’s still a murderous psycho/addict

the remake is kinda reminded me of another tvN's remake drama, TSHLYE. which the original has so much different. but different writers might bring different endings.lol laugh.png

otherwise, do you perhaps know why he killed/poisoned his younger brother? whtvr reason is, it's somewhat cruel. unsure.png

The Crowned Clown] Ep 3 spoilers, Yeo Jin Goo ♥ Lee Se Young

Article: Naver 'The Crowned Clown' â™¥ between clown Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Se Young deepens, will she abandon King Yeo Jin Goo?

1. [+1497,-12]

I'm amazed at Yeo Jin Goo's acting.

2. [+1203,-16]

Yeo Jin Goo is definitely the best actor in among other actors who are in the 20s... From that voice tone he's born with to his vocalizations, everything is perfect. His emotions are natural too.

3. [+807,-10]

He's doing two different roles on his own, but both are so distinct from each other that it felt like someone else is doing it. Normally, there are characteristics overlapping when actors take on two roles, but the characters are so different from each other that he really seemed like another person. I enjoy watching Yeo Jin Goo and look forward to Mondays and Tuesdays because of that.

4. [+566,-8]

I really like that Schubert's Serenade plays whenever the romance parts come up. ã… ã… ã…  The directing is the best!

5. [+263,-12]

It's interesting!

6. [+155,-1]

There are no acting holes, and even though I know the story, the story developed in a way that it isn't boring. Yeo Jin Goo is taking on two different roles, so there aren't any scenes without him and he has lots of lines. But his eyes and tone changed 180 degrees, that was amazing. I thought he was a different person.

7. [+124,-1]

I really like it. The supporting cast is perfect too. As expected, acting roles should be given to actors.

8. [+126,-4]

I like that they cast any idols as leads for this drama.

9. [+115,-5]

The queen's acting is good too, and she's pretty.
