Oh, I think I like this a lot. Starting this weekend, Jang Dong-yoon (You Who Forgot Poetry) will be joining tvN’s Mr. Sunshine for the last third of the series. Adding a relatively big name to the cast this late in the game is pretty rare in dramaland, but I’m excited for the possibilities of this new addition.

Details of Jang Dong-yoon’s role in the show haven’t been revealed, but I’m hoping his character has something to do with the Righteous Army, which is a portion of the plot that desperately needs some development. Personally, I think the show could use a little shake-up in terms of character and narrative dynamics, and the addition of another (hopefully) key player in the story is definitely a step in that direction.

I’ve been a fan of Jang Dong-yoon since Solomon’s Perjury, which he followed up with memorable performances in School 2017 and You Who Forgot Poetry, so I’m really happy to hear that he’s joining such a high-profile project like Mr. Sunshine. The show is already one of the highest rated shows on the cable channel (Episode 14 clocked in at a whopping 15.6% nationwide), and is well on its way to becoming the highest rated show on tvN, so a key role on Mr. Sunshine would definitely help solidify Jang Dong-yoon as lead potential.

For those of you curious to see what Jang Dong-yoon’s role in Mr. Sunshinewill be (like me), you won’t have to wait long: His character will make his first appearance in today’s Episode 16.

Oh, He's making an appearance. When I saw addition, I thought he was just joining the cast and was so confused if they were still filming or not. That would've been a little messy.

Anyway I'm still enjoying the drama. It's fun and surprisingly heart fluttering
