Does Boy Crush Concept Exist?

Kami the II.

Since the girl crush concept is defined as a gg song targeted at the female audience, is a bg song targeted at the male audience considered boy crush? If so, do these concepts/songs exist in kpop?

As a female, I dislike 'wild/bad boy' concepts like Bigbang's songs, BTS' early stuff, iKON's hiphop songs etc. Is it because they are boy crush?

PS: I'm not really into BGs so please correct me if I've missed some points...

Maybe it's the opposite, bg with cute/bright concepts are boy crush ohdearplz.png

Now i'm wondering if there's a bg that do dual concept like RV (dark&bright)...

Many

BGs don't have fixed concepts from what I know Pentagon, Got7, Block B are some obvious examples to me:

Ughh bops after bops!

But what i mean is a bg with 2 sides lol (like Red or Velvet side), and constantly change between the two sides. Majority of bgs are versatile i think, they had different sides every cbs.

I feel like boy-crush would be like.. bright and playful.

As girlcrush is meant for girl fans, or was originally made for that. The girls who are expected to be cute & sweet take a more dominant, feirce role. For boycrush, I would imagine it aimed for boys. So the boys who are normally expected to be manly and strong, become playful, cute, and bright.

I never thought this way but it might be true. I saw some comments like 'How can Got7 attract fangirls if they keep doing kindergarten songs' when Just Right was first released. I personally like flower boy concepts better tho...

No. Even if certain fandom are like 99% male (cant think of one in pop tho) there no real crushing involved. Unless gay obliviously.

Wow, really? Is there any example in kpop?

I know Winner are quite popular with the army & have many fanboys but I doubt they make more than %30 of the fandom...

Bigbang is definition of boy crush.

They are a standard of boygroup that men find its okay to stan.

Hiphop, club music sound, edgy but trendy fashion and crazy hairstyle, less standard idol dancing? focus more on fun type of stage (as Kpop group known to focus on choreography alot so there is lack of communication with audiences).

Definitely!!!

Their reputation is so strong that even their hoobaes Winner, despite having a considerably softer image, have benefited from their popularity among men...

Hmm no, not in kpop. I more had rap and heavy metal in mind. There's no such thing as boycrush tbh.

I think it's actually the opposite. Pretty sure an average guy would find "cute and playful" boygroups super cringey, so I guess boycrush would be more like a manly/cool concept. In fact the groups with more male fans like Big Bang, 2PM and BTS usually have a "cool" concept. I've barely seen dudes stanning a cute group like Astro.

BTS Jimin? He is a total fangirl material tho...

RM/Suga would have a higher ratio of fanboys imo considering they are more of that 'wild charisma' if that makes sense...
