Sanaazc 1,047 Posted August 25, 2018 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I read the book before i watched the movie and honestly it did not live up to my expectation, which usually happens with screen adaptations of best sellers. I felt like everything was rushed in the movie. The writer took time to lay out the whole story in detail which made it a good read. I guess i wouldve had a different reaction if i hadnt read the book first. I liked the lead pair, constance gave her own definition to how rachel is, which i found better than how she is in thd book. And i loved the british accent of henry. They really changed eleanor's character. She is more like a kdrama mother in the book but she was much more restrained in the movie. I am looking forward to see how they will adapt the next book in the sequel. The rich lifestyle of the shanghai based character is so unbelievable in the book.
