KaniPi 2,626 Posted August 24, 2018 Share Posted August 24, 2018 Compared to their previous title songs I have to say I’m disappointed by Idol. I’m just not feeling it. I have tried listening to it a few times but it feels somehow disjointed. MV is not the best they have done either. It’s difficult to top something like Fake Love, but there was hardly much singing either. I’m not a fan of the almost speaking like rap too much. I know not every song has to be like poetry, but I just expected better. As a fan I still support them, but I hope the remix will make it better. kxjay_ 718 Posted August 24, 2018 Share Posted August 24, 2018 the chorus mainly imo the verses were actually pretty dope, but the chorus just fell so flat and its smth youd expect to hear from western music also to add, fake love had such a drastic change in concept and dna as well, so they had so much impact with both of them, as opposed to idol which somewhat mix and mashes way too many things into one, which made it look a bit messy. the least impactful and memorable title track mv from love yourself series imo Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You may not have liked it but for some people it's now their favorite BTS tittle track or song in general. Everyone has different likes and dislikes... Listening to it without the MV makes it a much better experience, IMO, and if you haven't heard it yet, Nicki's verse in the remix is really good. cantnobody- 1,267 Posted August 24, 2018 Share Posted August 24, 2018 i don't love it but i think it's huge step up from fake love. fake love felt very stale to me - they've done similar songs in past (and way better) and the mv's biggest selling point was guk's abs. i think i've watched fl twice and listened to it maybe five times tops. idol is something new, for better or worse. I think Not Today easily wins this match, the dropbeat in this song is more powerful and strong compared to Idol. Moreover I don't like the verses, it's like talking without a beat in the background.
