It may have been unconsciously influenced by the media and opinions one is exposed to throughout one's upbringing, but it doesn't make it right. You can't put all members of a race in a box and say they are all more ugly or all more attractive and claim that's not at its root a racist sentiment. But yet having a preference does in the sense say that you are choosing something over something else merely because it's better. Does that mean that you look down on the what you don't choose? I mean I have peruvian friends and family and I don't treat them like sh't. It's not because it's better the fact that we prefer certain things over others, it's because we have different taste. For example, many people consider white people attractive because of all the movies and famous models, while we also consider Koreans attractive because once again the gorgeous ones are exposed in music videos and tv.....there are many handsome and beautiful Chinese, Indians, Mexicans, blacks, hispanics, arabs, but we just don't follow their entertainment and we see only a few attractive ones.
