Meiqi and Xuanyi of WJSN have been pulled from Rocket Girls of ‘Produce 101 China’ due to contract disagreements between Yuehua Entertainment and Tencent. The girls finished first and second, respectively, and they both left cryptic posts on Weibo.

 

On August 14, Mei Qi wrote on her personal Weibo, “Everything is part of the road to growth. Thank you for doing this together with me. Wind and rain will pass. I have no resentments or regrets.†Xuan Yi wrote on her own Weibo, “Our hearts and minds are one, like we’ve always been together. The feeling of being at the beginning. Gratitude. I must be myself.†Both of them still have “Rocket Girls†in their Weibo account names.

 

Reading the tea leaves a bit, they don’t seem all that thrilled about being pulled, but seemed resigned to the reality of the situation. Again, just feel bad for them as they likely saw this as their chance to shine.

from the beginning i was pretty skeptical about this girl group and how meixuan would work between it and wjsn

 

at first i just wanted them to get out of the mess but now i feel bad because they were probably so happy to be voted 1 and 2 on a show in their own country but now they'll most likely be back to struggling to stand out in a huge group that is pretty poorly managedunsure.png

I’m following the updates to this daily as I truly want to see Rockets girls as 11 and I’m trying to see how this will all go down. From updates I’ve seen on twitter all companies involved in P101 signed a contract stating the artists belong to Tencent/Rocket Girls for 2 years. Now if this is true I don’t exactly know how or why SS/Yuehua think pullin MeiXuan was a good idea unless they’re sitting on something heavy to expose Tencent but we’ll see how everything plays out.

They were going to become mega rich by being the centers in Rocket Girls but now they going back to nugudom as Yeonjung's backup dancers. How sad. imstupid.png

 

They are already rich.

 

XuanYi is actually an heiress, she never said what her family owned, but she got coins. and MeiQi is not poor herself.

I can see why they probably didn't want to leave. They're going from being 1 and 2 in a group back to being afterthoughts.

 

By pulling them out starship/yuehua are fucking over an extremely influential company in China and I can see that potential effecting mei qi and xuanyi in any chinese pursuits they inevitably go for.

 

Plus the other girls'(both the ones who made it and those that didn't) companies probably aren't very happy about this either.

 

Tencent is petty as hell and I don't see them letting this slide, I can definitely see them sabotaging starship/yuehua/meiqi/xuanyi in the future.

 

This is a shit situation all around and I would be surprised if the girls weren't fearing for their future right now.

Imagine if somi and sejeong being pulled out of IOI...

 

If I were them, I will choose Rocket Girls. The environtment will be better for them. Yuehua and Starship should just letting them go. 2 years isn't that long. They can benefit from their popularity later on.

Chaoyue is much worse than Sohye. Sohye didn't have any experience with singing and dancing, but she was at ease on stage, and her skills improved visibly during the show, especially her dancing. Chaoyue on the other hand, has no sense of rhythm, is close to tone deaf, and has no confidence when performing. She was an actual disaster on stage until the end of the show. Probably will fare better with the training she got in the last months, but she still has a long way to go.

Okay let's get this straight (correct me if I'm wrong), from what I heard from fans Yuehua wanted both MeiQi and XuanYi to be allowed to promote in both Rocket Girls and WJSN at the same time but Tencent wanted the girls to be solely Rocket Girls for 2 years just like Wanna One. And this is the reason why Yuehua is now pulling out MeiQi and XuanYi because if they agreed w/ Tencent contract then that means they won't be able to used MeiQi and XuanYi for 2 years just like how Minhyun can't be with Nu'est or Sungwoon can't be with Hotshot and same goes for other Wanna One members who is exclusive to W1 until Dec. 2018.

 

To be honest, I don't see why Yuehua doesn't just let the 2 promote as Rocket Girls for 2 years. They're the one who's desperate enough to send them on P101 China to begin with. Plus WJSN have so many members so I'm sure they can manage without the 2 for 2 years. It's not like their the center or main vocal of WJSN anyway. In fact they are mostly just on the sidelines. Look at Nu'est, they manage to promote well without Minhyun for 1.5 years. MeiQi is the #1 and the center of Rocket Girls that's huge. She's basically the face of the group but now she'll have to go back on WJSN as a sideline member. And no offense to WJSN fans but I'm sure they will earn a lot more money in China than in Korea promoting w/ WJSN.

 

Anyway I just heard Tencent sued them so goodluck with that. Tencent is a big company in China. They're huge. It'll be hard to go up against them. In fact if they're petty enough they can even ban all Yuehua artist on their shows and exert their influence against the girls to affect their future careers. If they're already an established artist it wouldn't have been an issue but their still newbies so it's easier to affect their careers.

Honestly XuanYi's family's already loaded she should just go be her own one-woman agency in China (and maybe bring Meiqi and ChengXiao with her)
