I'm going to say it's safe as long as take care of yourself and watch out for the nasty people out there. There's a lot of motorcycles there roaming around and there's not always a traffic light at every intersection so this one is something that you should be cautious about. Though, things are cheap there so I don't know if the price should be too big on food. However, find good sources and don't get scammed!! I'm pretty sure it's common for tourists to be scammed by some weirdos these days. Also air quality I would say isn't the best of now so stay safe.
