I don’t know why but people always come at red velvet when performing, I saw a tweet on twitter saying they look bored while performing their own songs but the thing I saw nothing wrong with the performance...

People always come for dua lipa stage preferences I barely watch her performance but I do watch her singing videos and she can sing I think the whole stage thing is stupid.

or dua lipa is more like...all she does is stand there and when she tries 'choreo' it looks so awkward - she doesn't have any stage presence lol but she's a singer and i like her

as for rv, i think its the same? they lack stage presence for a majority? they always point it out each time they come back, especially for bad boy promos

I think people expect more because they're both popular? people like to nitpick at things unsure.png

Yes, stage presence is an important part of being a performer on stage. It's how you can make the crowd feel something and provide an experience for your audience and how you draw people in. I don't believe it's fair to bash groups but it's also an interesting and important thing to look at.

A great example of amazing stage presence in new gen gg are Mamamoo. When you watch their stages it's just a feeling that's hard to describe with words (and this effect is even greater when you are attending a concert and watching it live). You can also see the passion they have for singing and performance in their eyes and how they are enoying the stage and the moment.

Well, it is important for a performer to have a strong stage presence. Although Mariah Carey (during her prime in the mid 1990's) and Michael Jackson had totally different concerts/stages, both have/had outstanding stage presence. MC captivated the crowd with her voice and engaged with the audience and MJ captivated his audience with his dancing and outstanding performances.

Stage presence gives more boost to the performance, look at how Big Bang always manage to turn a simple award show's performance into their own concert, its all due to their great stage presence.

I mean is a huge part because idols have to perform and ppl check their stages to start stanning them

( I speak as a Hyuna fan so it matters a lot for me)

yeh. i've watched some of dua lipa's performances and they were boring. so i never care about checking them out anymore. boring/bad performances for major award shows get rlly annoying if you're watching the whole thing (waiting for your fave or just for entertainment)

great stage presence (& performances) can make me like an idol/group i don't stan more. like mamamoo and sana

Honestly If I'm watching a performance with my eyes, yes, stage presence is important. Otherwise an artist is not worth my time watching them, if they're not trying. I can just listen to the audio with my ears.

edit: especially if I'm paying to see them at a concert.

If I watching (and much more importantly: if I'm PAYING to watch) someone perform then I want them to at least look like they know what they're doing. It's also worth noting that "stage presence" comes in many different forms.

Copied from http://kdstudio.com/2012/08/16/stage-presence-what-it-means-why-it-matters-and-how-to-improve-it/

Whether you call it “star powerâ€, “the x-factorâ€, or simply “Itâ€, stage presence can be hard to describe – but easy to spot. Stage presence refers to the certain charisma and charm that a theater actor or performer possesses that draws in an audience and commands their full attention.

Stage presence is more than the ability to recite your lines, hit your marks, and sing the right notes. Essentially, a good stage presence pulls the audience into the performance. It’s the ability to make the audience connect with the performer and envelop them in the story being told, and in turn to express what the audience feels.

Ur welcome

It isn't stupid. People have different standards. You might watch something and think it's entertaining while someone else might think its boring. IMO, both red velvet and dua lipa have poor stage presence but if you like their stage presence you shouln't worry about what others think.
