lalisabp 7 Posted August 11, 2018 Share Posted August 11, 2018 I don’t know why but people always come at red velvet when performing, I saw a tweet on twitter saying they look bored while performing their own songs but the thing I saw nothing wrong with the performance... People always come for dua lipa stage preferences I barely watch her performance but I do watch her singing videos and she can sing I think the whole stage thing is stupid. It's how you can make the crowd feel something and provide an experience for your audience and how you draw people in. I don't believe it's fair to bash groups but it's also an interesting and important thing to look at. A great example of amazing stage presence in new gen gg are Mamamoo. When you watch their stages it's just a feeling that's hard to describe with words (and this effect is even greater when you are attending a concert and watching it live). Although Mariah Carey (during her prime in the mid 1990's) and Michael Jackson had totally different concerts/stages, both have/had outstanding stage presence. MC captivated the crowd with her voice and engaged with the audience and MJ captivated his audience with his dancing and outstanding performances. Stage presence gives more boost to the performance, look at how Big Bang always manage to turn a simple award show's performance into their own concert, its all due to their great stage presence. Otherwise an artist is not worth my time watching them, if they're not trying. I can just listen to the audio with my ears. edit: especially if I'm paying to see them at a concert. People have different standards. You might watch something and think it's entertaining while someone else might think its boring. IMO, both red velvet and dua lipa have poor stage presence but if you like their stage presence you shouln't worry about what others think.
