It has been causing some controversy because some people are claiming that the song's success is due to chart manipulation and using the fact that it's beating out many established artists (such as Blackpink, Red Velvet, Twice, Zico & IU). I think fans often forget that scoring number one on the charts is never the end goal for any sane company--no one's career is set for life because you hit #1 for a week just like my fave's careers aren't over because of a one hit wonder.
