So as you know, things are a fucking mess with Pentagon right now. Three members have been caught up in dating rumors, with one confirmed, one that was confirmed to have happened before (and is realistically still happening), and one that seems like a complete rumor.

 

As is usually the case, Pentagon fans are upset about this, with fansites closing to demanding members leave the group to just general flipping out. And as is usually the case, fans are writing essays as to why they are justified in being mad.

 

Here’s a prominent one making the rounds at the moment:

Don’t worry, I actually see this sentiment around in international circles as well, usually from people who are also mad as shit. But honestly, why do people keep trying to explain this like we’re fucking idiots? Like we get the reasons and the status quo and all that, and the whole point is we simply disagree with that approach and don’t give a shit about the bullshit reasons that none of them cared about before they found out their fave was fucking.

 

Like literally my last favorite group was Crayon Pop, and my previous fave Soyul got knocked up before a comeback by Moon Hee Jun, dropped out and got married, popped out a kid and is slaving away in a kitchen somewhere with her husband telling people not to search her. I spent a lot of time and money on them and her, but that doesn’t entitle me to possession of their or her personal life. I still defended them against people being shitty about it, and would support them if they decided to come back. Same goes for Siyeon and Dreamcatcher now. It’s not that hard when you aren’t being creepy as shit about enjoying K-pop and the idol culture that comes with it.

 

Being a bit salty is understandable, but caping for these unhinged rants by delusional, toxic, possessive fans? Nah, that’s a terrible status quo to be supporting, and normalizing those kinds of attitudes are what lead to the sasaeng shit that everybody disapproves of.

 

Anyway, prepare for even more ridiculous reaches of behavior deemed problematic by fans, worse than the so-called sexual harassment chest bumping. If it’s not already happened, then it’s certainly coming.

I mean they are fucking WRONG ... But no one can stop them , he ll either get kick out or anouce a break up , it is what it is do u think Cube invested in a 9 members group for fun ,they have a CONTRACT FOR AT LEAST 7-10 YEARS TO PAY .

I think it wasn't really smart to go all for it , if only they lied ... and called it fake news.

 

being inn a kpop groups is not as colorfull as new stans try to paint it , THEY have to pay their training + promo contract before getting their first paycheck and those other members didn't spend their childhood training to debut for it to be this way .

 

yess its wrong , but who buys the album? who streams ? who gets them music shows and promote them on sites to get them those EVENT APPEARENCES + CF deals + Tv APEARENCES ... not international fans .

 

these ppl debut to get taht CASH $$$$ , I just feel sad for Hyuna cause she ll get a new weave of drag after this

u know i tink its fine its fine if they leave the fandom and don't support them. Its their choice and if they feel like they were mislead ( which lets be honest they were with idols boyfriend marketing and whatever) they are free to leave.

 

That said its hardly something that warrant hate.

Some points were made, but for the most part they were contradicting themselves

 

I can understand being mad at Hyuna and E'dawn for not thinking about Pentagon's reputation and slowly rising status, but using the "we love their images we can't accept the dating" as an excuse is not a good look at all.

 

If  they loved Pentagon and E'dawn as they say, then they should just leave the fandom quietly instead of doing all that. You can lose interest (petty as this reason is) but it's another thing to harass the members on their Fancafe and damage the group dynamic by asking E'dawn to leave.

Married SuJu fans in their thirties having drinking parties on Twitter in honor of them "kicking Sungmin out" prove that some people never learn and never grow up, they're just bad people. But yeah, I agree with you, they want to get him fired like him dating has impeded with his job in any way up until this point and it really hasn't, they've been together for years before people found out and both of them were nothing if not professional and hardworking. So screw this. Compassion is a foreign concept to some people.

And couples collaborate all the time when they share a creative passion. Who cares if Triple H was started because of their relationship? They're super talented and it's clear they're serious about the subgroup, they should be celebrated for working together, not shamed for 'dating' through promotions.

Well thanks k-fans but your reasons are still complete freaking bullshit. Spending money on idols doesn't give you the right to control their lives. Outing their relationship would never have been a problem if yall don't act like bitches about it, so E'dawn wouldn't have to even discuss it with his members. All in all, FANS are the problem. Why do we have to do this every single damn time a new couple is revealed? I'm so fed up with this shit

Omg you’re right I blanked on that... but the Sungmin clusterfuck is sort of the greatest lesson - I’m an old fan of SJ and despite the years and YEARS of everything they’ve given their audience, that’s how those dried up assholes decided to repay them... it was so fucked up and it was so wrong and I sort of wish I could apologize to Sungmin somehow even tho i never agreed with what they did to him... I don’t want that to happen to any idol, regardless of how many years they’ve been in the business. Everyone deserves to be more than just a spectacle on stage, they deserve to be loved. :/

These people just need to leave the fandom. E'Dawn doesn't deserve any of this shit, and neither do the rest of Pentagon.

 

There's a 99.99% chance they're going to pull this shit every time there's news of a member dating, so it would be nice if they could all just fuck off now and save everyone a lot of time.
