You'll get better eventually, one bad thing about it is that google doesn't recognize slang or cute way of typing. Like for example nayeon wrote 좋아용 instead of 좋아요 to make it cute, so when translating I'd say to keep a look out for stuff like that if you know hangul and to change it before you translate. 

 

And yeah I noticed Taehas went a few days ago, Nayeon's was still there like yesterday so she must have deleted it recently ;;

 

yeah that +ng thing they do a lot, to make things cute got me a lot before. sometimes they tweet without spaces too. OTL ~ not berry good but I see them a lot idols who tweet without spaces. they also shorten the words to a point that its not recognized by google.  korean language is hard.

Yep, it's confusing especially at the start. You should try translating comments lmao so many curse words I never even knew existed. I actually tend to do that (type w/o spaces) it's become a bad habit but it saves so much time. The worst imo is when they only type the first letter like if they were saying sorry it'd be ã…Šã……ã…Žã…‡ etc you literally have to just guess. Spend time on Korean sites and you'll pick up stuff like that. 

 

Me too, I wonder why they deleted them? Maybe the company didn't know. 

 

wow on the first letter only. i haven't encountered those yet. my god.. =_= ~ does google have a database of these curse words? I only know a few but they seem to translate just fine. I did once tried to translate everything they have on the guestbook part of daum cafes, google died. 

 

taeha's first vid on ig was posted on facebook. i'm not sure, maybe they're filtering thing they post online so netizens don't kill them early. their debut was good so the company would want to be on the safe side. someday they'll have them back (i hope)

I hope you don't. I don't think so, maybe the commonly used ones but what young people say these days aren't really translatable. Like 무개ë…/ë…„ etc. There's also slang like 악플 and ì—´í­ etc that are really common now but again aren't in the database. Google is really behind for Korean.

 

its because young people create words to send a message faster (through the mobile interface) or make do with the limit on characters sent like twitter impose. they shorten everything up. google will have a hard time with those, i remember there was one time the word pyong which is a cute expression (or what i believe it should be) is translated as something explicit in bing and google. 

 

korean is much easier than japanese in my opinion though, since i can just type in pictures or draw them up so i can translate them, while japanese is hard to input on the translator.

Yeah just like any language, it evolves and with the rise of social media and smart phones etc people want things to be easier hence slang etc. I learned Japanese for 4 years and Korean for 2 and I do think Korean is a lot easier. Not only alphabetically and grammatically but just in general. One thing though is that Google is better/more accurate at translating Japanese than Korean. But I never use Google to translate, if there's a word I don't know the Naver dictionary's really good. It has some of the newer slang too, for the stuff it doesn't I just search the meaning in krn. One thing I found hard at the start is honorifics and the whole polite/impolite speech but that just becomes force of habit. Are you learning Korean? Or just translate when you need it?

 

i want to learn the language but haven't started with stuff like having a tutor or getting professional help for it, just the online stuff and guides. and google translate has that read to you thing. since they say learning it through romanization is wrong (since the pronunciation rule part would haunt me later on). with honorifics and polite speech i haven't really gone deep with it yet. what i know and not sure if its right is how men and women use certain words and -yo and -da words. and there i go with the romanized stuff.. (=_= ;) it was a while before i saw that one guide not to take romanized guides. oh well. (also translating helps me get to know their updates faster, so its two birds with one stone)

About a week a go Taeha deleted her first 4 posts and now they've both deleted :(

 

maybe its a company directive. i hope they still provide stuff to post online to the staff. maybe they try to filter them so they won't make mistakes. the berry good page still interacts with the people who post there.

Guys, I'm willing to pay to run a website for Berry Good, I'd most likely host on Wordpress but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with coding/themes etc? I suck at it so much :( If not I can just ask a friend in another fandom. Also which would you guys rather, berrygood.me or berrygoodintl.com? or any other suggestions would be helpful! I want it to be a place fans can rely on to find updates/translations/videos etc. Also once it's done I'll be asking if anyone wants to be an admin etc but it'll take a few days to get everything set up & organized first. I'll probably only need 1 other person or maybe 2 as Berry Good aren't that active yet, hopefully in the future that'll change.

 

berrygoodintl.com seems nice. its a shame berrygood.com is already taken ;c ~ or maybe loveberrygood.com 

 

for layout and stuff, I don't really know how to do it haha. OTL ~ 

 

I'd like to help if there aren't takers. I'm not that confident with translating news articles, what I can do is copy paste stuff they update in facebook and twitter. ^^

Yea I checked it first but taken :( berrygoodintl.com it is. That way I can keep all the pages the same. I get paid on Wednesday (in Aus) so probably by Thursday next week the basic site should be up unless I chance upon money earlier, both of you are welcome to help! It's ok if you can't translate, do you know the basics of news/article searching, checking the fancafe, websites etc? That's really all that's needed bc I can just translate later. If you don't I can teach you as it's pretty simple. And that's cool the site would probably always need changes anyway, esp with comebacks so whenever you can is fine. Thank you guys though, I'll give the proper info next week

 

at the fancafe i'm still a lvl1, I don't know how to levelup on the berrygood fancafe OTL.. I know you have to answer a pass or something but I just don't know there. What I do with fancafe is just check pictures though, so I'm not sure what really to use as an update. I can learn them though. With news sites I haven't done it religiously but I have these for 2EYES bookmarked

Which in turn I check as well for new pictures to save. I haven't really checked the articles they're connected with (since I haven't really tried translating the articles yet). I can do it for Berry Good, since its kinda easy to do anyway. If they use an old photo I wouldn't know if its a new article or not though. Should we search nate as well? or do we focus on one site only.

 

For tistory, I just bookmark those who I know post sets then from there I save pics. is there a way to search for a new set from the root url? 

 

I did at one time try searching for new stuff on dcinside (for girls day), but they post like 7 pages (of 30 threads each) per day which takes so much time. I dropped it.

About the fancafe thing, all you need to do is click 등업신청, then is it possible for you to take a screenshot? I've forgotten what their requirements are and I've already levelled up so I can't see it. Fancafe isn't that important as they usually just upload things that have already been uploaded on fb or twitter.

 

For news sites, the main ones are Nate or Naver. They both run the same articles so to save time you pretty much only need to use one, which I'd say Naver is easier to navigate for people not perfect at Korean. Here's the link you can use to check up. If there's a green 네ì´ë²„ next to an article click that instead of the title of the article. Again it's not that important unless there's performance pictures or stuff like that. Most articles use old pictures and are unimportant, like 10 articles a day come out about useless stuff. Usually you can tell when important pictures etc will come out because of their schedule.

 

Tistory, I'm not 100% sure, I follow the main idol sites like allidol, girlsgrapher etc on Twitter and get updates that way. You can't register for a Tistory acc unless you have invite. I can give you a list of all the active sites that pictures would most likely appear on. Also sometimes fantaken photos are on the fancafe, under 'ì§ì°ì‚¬ì§„', you'll know if there's anything there if there's the orange N next to it. 

 

Dcgall's are pretty much useless for new groups. For groups like After School etc I have a way to only see the recommended posts (fantaken pictures, news etc) but BG don't have their own gallery yet so updates for them would be under the girl group category which would be buried under other more popular nugu groups (if that makes sense).

 

it says "등업 ì¡°ê±´ì€ ë”°ë¡œ 없으며 ë“±ì—…ì´ ì™„ë£Œë˜ë©´ ì‹ ì²­ê¸€ì€ ë“±ì—… 완료 게시íŒìœ¼ë¡œ ì´ë™ë©ë‹ˆë‹¤." for the levelup procedure, I don't really get the instructions. Normally it just says "Member names in alphabetical order, or birthdays, message to the group, name, age, etc" this one isn't really a question, so I got stuck at level 1. 

 

wow your link looks much cleaner than the one I use to track naver with, so if its the same pic its just different news portals paraphrasing the same article? 

 

for tistory I do the same, most of the popular photog guys follow each other anyway and sometimes retweet new ones. what i'm thinking is if there is a way to crawl out the ones who doesn't really do it professionally like the big guys. the ones who take a few photos and upload it there on tistory. I did inquire before on how to register there but yeah its only by invite. 

I get what you mean with dcgall, since girlsday has its own link. I tried changing that id code before, thinking maybe this is the search query but it went to a dead link. so its up to the admin there if they feel to make a sub directory for groups right?

It's not expensive or anything around $20 aud for a year, new sites like that pop up all the time for nugus. It's not about how much traffic we get or anything, I just think it'd be easier to have everything in one place.

 

 

 

That's strange, when I first levelled up it was the whole Name/birthday/gender etc.. That just says there's no rule for level up and to just write a comment on the 등업완료 part.. So just write a comment like '등업 해주세요' or something along those lines there.

 

Yep pretty much, a lot of articles are just the same stuff over and over.

 

Most that don't do it professionally would usually pop up on the fancafe, korean fans post it.

 

Yeah, you have to apply to make a new gallery and even then they're really selective. Maybe in a year I'll apply, by then I'd have a better chance.

 

other fancafes do that, the info thing with member profile for a levelup and you have to hide post too with the lock thing. stuff like that. ok so that's why people post this exactly. you just have to request for a levelup.  although the cafe itself isn't that restrictive with lvl1s like me, i can browse most links on the sidebar.

 

oh.. its us who apply for it. i thought dcgall do it themselves. like if a lot post about a certain topic they say we have a subforum for you guys since you post a lot now. what I tried doing before was checking out if the icon was for a picture before clicking something but still some were repetitive or have the <group name> dcgall header thing (which is technically a picture so the system says this post has a picture)

Yeah there's a place where you apply to make a gallery. It has to be accepted and they're quite strict about what gets accepted. I know that a Korean fan applied for a Tint gallery and got rejected not long ago. For dcgall if you only want to see most relevant stuff click ê°œë…글, usually they have an award thing next to them, like ex for AS I use this link here. You could probably even just go to the gallery you want and then add the exception_mode thing at the end.

You can do that then but I don't like group-orientated forums, they're always dead.

 

I second this, its why group forums changed format to a news site as well, see soshified or girlsdaydaily for example. this can be a second feature but not as a main thing. if we have domain its just easy to put up a forum.* url which redirects to the forum anyway.

The idea of 0 schedules is kinda disingenuous as the internet does not discriminate against rookie groups.  A little self-determination is a requirement in these situations.  At least post the dance practice vids for gosh sakes.

 

Also kinda disappointing is that since they're from a company that specializes in performing music live, they haven't been set up to do some live performances somewhere.  Sure, Korea still not at full speed post-Sewol, but certainly they could get time at a horse track or something.  And the right semi-pro fancam'er captures a performance, and they'll end up with more viewers than appearing on cable TV anyway.

 

the guys that did the perf on the horse race is girl's day, hello venus, etc. i think its pretty high profile schedule. not sure though.

Q. You finally debuted. How does it feel?

Taeha: I'm happy that the people around me have given a lot of support, the thought that I finally took my first step was new.

Iera: It feels like it hasn't happened. I want to do more perfomances. 

 

Q. How was your first performance?

Nayeon: The rehearsal for SBS MTV The Show was really nerve-wracking. But compared to what we had thought we did a really good job, haha.

 

Q. Were there any disappointing things?

Subin: There's always disappointing things when compared to how you think it will be.

Kowoon: Holding the mic was kind of awkward. We didn't really practice whilst holding mics so it shook. The sound director had to give us advice.

Nayeon: The Show and Inkigayo's sound directors are the same. When we performed at Inkigayo we saw the sound director again and he said that we improved a lot and praised us so our mood was even better.

 

Q. What's the best thing about having debuted?

Nayeon: I was really surprised to see fans at the front of our rehearsal room. We got fans already! We also have a fancafe, fanchants too, and placards!

Subin: Really! We recieved letters too, we're really thankful.

Nayeon: But I thought that once we debuted they wouldn't come to the rehearsal room anymore... They came. Haha.

 

Q. There are a lot of prominent and popular singers at music shows. How was it?

Kowoon: I saw T-ara's Jiyeon and she was really pretty. G.na's appearance is just 'uwa..'. She's a goddess in real life.

Taeha: Kowoon and I heard Baek Ji Young's live and got goosebumps.

Nayeon: I've known Vixx's N since elementary school. He talked to me before we went up to do our first performance. How to rehearse, how to look at the camera. A person I've known since I was young was teaching me about how to give a good performance, seeing him give me advice was interesting and I'm thankful.

 

Q. Like Nayeon is there anything that was different than what you expected?

Kowoon: I thought that once we debuted our schedule would be packed and we'd have no time to practice. But compared to what I thought we're not tired at all, it'd be good if we were haha.

 

Q. You recieved a lot of attention when you debuted. There also must be negative comments, are you okay?

Kowoon: It's fun. An articles title was 'Nation's Little Sisters' and someone posted a comment saying 'Not the nation's little sisters, just people[Nation/people/country etc all use the same word '국민']'. Haha. 'Bad comments are better than no comments' I think of it as them giving interest.

Nayeon: Just to write a comment on your keyboard requires interest!

Subin: I saw those comments. That when they saw our photo they thought we were twins (this is usually used as an insult, implying they all got the same plastic surgery)... But the people that have seen us in real life don't think like that at all! Haha.

 

Q. A message you want to leave to yourself a year later.

Nayeon: To Berry Good. (All members: Hahaha) Unnies and Kowoon-ah. In a year we'll be able to win a music show won't we? We'll be in the best place by then. Without being discouraged, showing our fresh and strong appearance. Lovely and pretty Berry Good!! Don't lose your health or laughter, let's go through the next 10 years, 100 years steadily. 

Kowoon: How are you. Berry Good members. By then we must really be tired. Don't lose your positive energy and laughter, get along and win first. Let's work hard quickly and hold a concert. I love you.

Subin: Berry Good must have already recieved the rookie award. Our fancafe is also over 1000 members. (All members: Only 1000? That's too little!) No. We must be humble! Haha. Nayeon who's already shone on variety. Praiseworthy. Of course I knew it. Iera who's already an Inkigayo MC. Of course, I knew it. You're doing great. Take over many MC positions in the future. Also even though you're a rookie, Taeha who appeared on 'Immortal Song'. You're doing well. Our maknae Kowoon-ah. Is your drama filming going well? Even though the rating are low right now, (All members: Hahaha) you've shot the 3rd episode already take advantage of your character and become Berry Good's main. Subin, shooting CF's must be hard. If you can shoot for the makeup CF you've been wishing for it'd be great. Let's continue your great music.

 

Q. Seeing Subin's message, you've got variety, MC, drama, even CF's but your fancafe has only 1000 members. Hahaha.

Subin: Haha, come to think of it you're right.

Taeha: Precious and special Berry Good members. After training for a long time we've had our first debut anniversary. We got many fans like we wanted, our recognition went up a lot too, it'd be nice if we went up even further. 

Iera: Hello? Our Berry Good members. It's hard to see each other's faces lately. Because we were always around each other now that we're not it feels weird, like I want to see you.
